It's not what Mr. Platinum Poster on this board thinks it's the perception to everyone else. Start thinking bigger and maybe you'll understand. Oooo, what a sick burn. Calling him a Platinum Poster. Good one! Well at least there's only one Platinum Poster EDITED on the board. Congrats!

No it does not. Pops being pops every once in a blue moon doesn't make it look like he's calling the shots.. Not when 99.9% of all press conferences and interviews is 3 and 3 alone.. Cmon now People know who the head coach is... It's not what Mr. Platinum Poster on this board thinks it's the perception to everyone else. Start thinking bigger and maybe you'll understand. Lol...How ironic considering It's not what you think either. Something you might never understand based on your propensity to label any opinion different then yours an uniformed one. Can you enlighten the rest of us sheep and link me too anything that supports your commentary that Pops making the obvious comment the refs were terrible the other night leads to the perception that he is calling the shots?

I'll wait... It's not the time or place for him to be interjecting that. It's a team press conference with the coach and two players. If he wants to pull a reporter aside and go off and talk all about it that's fine and his prerogative. I don't disagree with the sentiments just not the time or place to do that. It undermines his own son.

It undermines his own son. And if he does not that is his prerogative as well. If 3 had a problem with it or viewed it as undermining him I'm sure he would let 2 know after all that's his pops and they probably have a pretty good relationship. Agree to disagree...

I posted the Washington post story and video on this on page 26 of the Creighton game thread. this can't help the team. I love JTII but I can see the Hoyas being called for even more fouls against providence and beyond. refs are a very loyal bunch and tend to take justice in their own hands when one of theirs gets bashed publically. that said, mike eades should be banished to ref 50 and over rec league games in Antarctica. he is that bad.

I'm not sure it could hurt that much, either -- I mean, they could call 52 fouls on us instead of 50 they already call, I guess.

MOD NOTE: argue all you want, but calling other posters here idiot, moron and d-bag is not allowed (and frankly undermines the points people are trying to make).

If we are not there yet, I think we are pretty close to being able to go bot-controlled on this site. Just get some standard language critical of the coach that can be randomly attributed to one of several posters whenever there is the slightest opening and have the bot do the posting. Start with some of the key phrases -- perhaps, "failure to take time-outs," "no adjustments," and a few others. Looks like we can add "embarrassingly defers to his dad" to the list. SMH.

Of course the bot would come with standard apologetic/defensive language of the coach that could be attributed to one of several posters to be posted whenever the above critical language is posted. Start with some key phrases -- perhaps, "he's not going anywhere anytime soon", "you don't know basketball if you only care about March success", "we cannot get a better coach for $3,000,000", "yeah, who would like to coach at Georgetown?!," and a few others. Looks like we can add "It's O.K. if Dad sitting in the crowd interrupts Son at press conference."

Just my two little cents. I don't think JT's interruption will have any impact whatsoever on anything...I'm sure plenty of refs have dad's with strong opinions of their own. Just from my standpoint, I do feel that it was a bit out of place, simply because its now JT3's show, not his. Just a minor breach of decorum in my mind, nothing more.

That's BS. I don't know if Pops is still contractually owed payments by the university, but that doesn't make him an employee, and he isn't Georgetown. Actually find that to be a pretty tame response from the commissioner, considering the language used by Big John. Makes me think that a point has been made and heard, rather than disregarded.

I was going to add the defensive Bot stuff but figured I would give that opportunity to one of the critics. I am all for equal opporunity This one, though, just strikes me as over-the-top. Seems to me to be one of those instances where there was nothing good to complain about so lets just make ups some ridiculous ish to harp on. Whatever floats one's boat...

This was like Harry Reid going on about Romney releasing his taxes. The criticism helped Obama but it wasn't associated with Obama because it didn't come from him, it came from a surrogate. JT2 going off on the refs gets the point across, but since it wasn't JT3 calling out the refs, the refs aren't going to take it out on him/the team because it wasn't him ripping on them, it was JT2.
Kind of brilliant in that way. And as someone said earlier, what's the worst that can happen? We already get called for a ridiculous number of fouls.

I actually think there is a high probability that it have the opposite effect tomorrow. I wouldn't be surprised to see fewer than normal fouls called in that contest, as the eye of sauron will certainly be focused on the issue and the officiating crew may react accordingly. The game against Butler on Tuesday, though, watch out...
