When this team is in the NIT again this March, it will be losses like this game that will be one of the reasons why. This is exactly what I am concerned about as well.

You don't even need to watch our games to know the ball is going to be in DSRs hand in the final possession of every game. Why does III refuse to accept the fact that EVERYONE in the building knows where we're going on our final possessions. How bout you inbound the ball to someone else and run DSR off of a screen if you really need him taking that last shot. I mean, III has watched enough basketball in his life to realize that DSR can't create his own 3pt shot off the dribble when there's a defender within 5 feet, hasn't he?

Where does Cooley send the check? Should he make it out to them individually or would they prefer to split it themselves? It's made out to Hopkins, so we should probably give it to him.

My optimistic prediction for our conference records was 10-8. Maybe down to 9-9, now.

5-12 FT in the 2nd half. 11-20 for the game. Outscored by 10 from the stripe. Did a great job on Henton.

Apparently the outcome of the game was the determinative factor in deciding whether the coach did a good job? Really. What people should discuss is the recurring problems that plague this team, including no answer for the zone defense and inept FT shooting. Add the loss of composure by a senior who has played a lot and the return of the pass the ball around the perimeter offense. Seriously, did anyone , supporter or critic of JT III, really think that the Hoyas looked competent in running their offense today? Did anyone think that this team deserved to win? There are some serious flaws that have to be addressed or this is just another NIT season.

Hop's d is so good but if he goes 2-6or3-6 we would have won this game. Easy to say that, but that would be to ignore the other variables that go into winning close games. I agree with your sentiment, but his last missed ft came with like 4 mins remaining in regulation and has no bearing on how we played in the final minute or even OT.

Why is Hopkins reaching for the ball 25 feet from the basket. Why is he allowed to play shooting ft so badly. I just do not get what is the criteria to receive playing time for GTown.

To all the folks whining about JTIII, it would help if you had a single specific complaint anywhere in there. We get a great road win today if Hopkins doesn't completely and utterly Edited the bed. Four turnovers, 0-6 from the FT line, two colossally stupid and bad goaltends. We get a great road win if DSR would be more aggressive. We get a great road win if Josh Smith actually thinks about how many fouls we have. We have a great road win if the officials don't decide halfway through the second half to give it to Providence. And yeah, some of those set plays were awful. But you're a moron if you think JTIII is in the huddle going "stop moving on offense; DSR -- never shoot!" Guru -- you did type a bunch of things a couple of days ago. I completely debunked a couple as factual incorrect. You didn't bother to respond. And if your brother in arms is freaking hoyacane -- the dude who only complains about the coach, well, good luck with that. Fine. I will go back and reread that string. I honestly didn't check back on it that closely after Frazier got his feathers ruffled. I doubt my opinions were factually debunked however. Hard to do that. But I'll see what you wrote. Frazier - please put me on ignore. I don't know why you are so personally interested in engaging me, but I do not share the attraction.

It should be clear by now that Hop's minutes should be highly limited and Copeland and White should play the 4. If we must lose due to our power forward making bonehead plays I'd rather it be because Copeland is learning on the job. And frankly, I think he'll do just fine in the 4 spot. But at this point, we know exactly what we're getting from Hopkins in that position.....

III continues to play a kid that doesn't shoot outside of 5 ft and still shoots under 40%...can't make a ft...is a black hole on offense...turns it over at an alarming rate...and fouls like crazy

3 words Coaching, Hopkins, The Refs. coaching, refs, Hop. Hop, Hop, Hop, Hop, Hop, Hop (one for each missed FT), refs, and maybe coaching (for playing Hop).

Brutal loss, you cannot let one like that go on the road. This should have been a W. III had a very bad day. Subbing out Smith until less than 2 minutes were left while watching Hopkins sink the offense as PC made their run was really difficult to understand. Many, if not all, of the very good passes that Hopkins caught in the lane that resulted in 0 points would have been converted by Smith. How does Hop miss all 6 FTs? The loss is on III for leaving hop in when he obviously was killing us.
I had no issue with the refs, we should have won this game by two possessions without OT. Once we went to OT, the road team is not getting any calls.

DSR does not want to take the shot and PW needs to take it. Twice! Incredible! Soul searching time for DSR! [/quote Not that he didn't want to take the shot...he didn't have a shot to take. Have you not taken notice of DSR's lack of lift on his long jumpers?

You cannot shoot 55% from the line and expect to win on the road in the BE against the #16 RPI team and expect to win. Yes Hop missed all his FT but if he was not in PC would probably have had 2-3 more baskets. So it is what it is.

Wasn't able to watch the first half, but did Reggie get in at all? Why not at least give him the opportunity, see if we can hit some shots from the outside to open up the zone, and go from there?
