You got a ticket for me? The same guys who are always around the Boston Garden will assuredly be outside with extras.

Ed Cooley basically benched three starters in the second half tonight at Butler. Instead of Carson Desrosiers (15 minutes), Ben Bentil (9 minutes) and Jalen Lindsey (16 minutes), he gave significant playing time to Junior Lomomba (21 minutes), Ted Bancroft (20 minutes), Paschal Chukwu (23 minutes) and Tyler Harris (15 minutes), and the Friars came back to win at Butler. After the game, an assistant coach told reporters that they went with the subs because they wanted to use their five "toughest" players. Both LaDontae Henton and Kris Dunn played 38 minutes. It will be interesting to see what lineup he goes with against GU on Saturday.

Time to erase the first away conference game from memory. Just win.

Gotta play zone here right. Track Henton obviously but the rest of the team is pretty weak from 3.
Dunn is going to be hard to contain in Man

Provi looked pretty good in the one game I've watched of them. Seemed really attentive on defense which struck me as atypical for them. A win on the road in the Big East is like pulling teeth this year so I expect it will be a very tough game.
I was impressed with Smith's defensive presence in the Marquette game. I hope he brings it again for Providence. 7 offensive boards would be nice too :-)

I agree with playing zone. Not a great 3pt shooting team and stopping Dunn and Henton is the key.
My wife and I are heading up to Providence to visit my parents for the game. Should be a good time. Hopefully the Hoyas can get a win. I'm 2-0 at the Dunk so hopefully the streak continues.

Make sure you get in the building early for your free poster celebrating PCs victory over us for the BET championship in 94.
gotta agree with Yaboy here. Henton and Dunn have the abilty to go crazy against us in the man.

Although I did not enjoy my opportunity to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Andrew Gaze Seton Hall Pirates in Newark, it will be nice to catch up with Franklin Western and co. on Saturday.

Hello from RI, It will be interesting to see how the Friars come out on Saturday after last night. Cooley sent a message sitting the starters outside of Henton and Dunn for the second half and used a former walk-on, a frosh center, and a role player.
The teams has yet to find a consistent third/fourth scorer this year. Tyler Harris has regressed and his shot has gotten real flat. The freshman have their good games and bad ones so they are not that reliable.
If you can shut down Henton or Dunn, then a team has a good chance of beating us.

I cant believe it is coming up on a year that Louie's was shut down. PC will never be the same.

The one thing that jumped out at me about last night's game is they really struggle to score outside Henton and Dunn. No one else on the roster worries me in the slightest. That said, those two are certainly good enough to win games by themselves. My fear is that as he's done so many times in the past, Thompson will refuse to gameplan for this specific opponent resulting in DSR getting torched by Dunn all game.

Hoyas have put up 83, 52, 74, 63, 49; 61, 73 pts against Ed cooley coached Providence and Fairfield (the last 2) teams. So yes 2 stinkers in there but still average score of 65pts. Our Avg over the 5 years these games happened was 68.8 pts. We're also 4-1 against providence and 2-0 against Fairfield.

Was just responding to the comment that they were attentive defensively, which seemed out of character for them to Aristides. My point is that Cooley has made his name as a defensive coach. And you are forgetting the absolute clunker at BC (2006?) when he was an assistant. But yes, point taken that we have had recent success against them/him. But now that Dunn is healthy, you add Henton who kills us, Harris who is pretty good, a good recruiting class, and our offensive woes and I see us playing under that average on Saturday. I would love to be proven wrong.
