@dickiev: I find it totally confusing in analyzing the NCAA findings as to what specifically did Jim Boeheim do to warrant the NCAA sanctions. Sounds about right for Dick. Told you the Vincent the Chin bathrobe defense was going to be trotted out - Dickie V (and Seth Greenberg and others) is just the advance PR Guy.

Someone's going to have to work really hard to top the gutlessness that Jay Bilas just showed on ESPN. He responded to a question about Jim Boeheim's legacy by trashing John Wooden. Then he pretended this entire case was about one rogue booster and how unfair it was to hold a coach to "strict liability". If you were getting your news from ESPN here, you wouldn't know there was any issue with academic fraud (or anything else) at all. Really wasn't planning on piling on Syracuse, but as long as they and their allies keep acting like Syracuse, it's pretty hard not to. Bilas is the worst and has been for a solid 5 years. There was a time he was one of the most insightful commentators but that time has long since past.

Bilas is still pretty good analyzing a game; however his vitriol toward the NCAA coupled with his ACC background have destroyed his objectivity.

Either Bilas hasn't really read the report or is just straight up ignoring the damning evidence. You can say the sanctions were too harsh or not harsh enough but to say that you just don't understand what happened is dumb, especially for a guy who is supposed to be smart like Bilas. Sad because he used to be a truth to power type that told it like it is on the air but it's painfully obvious he has an agenda on this and is pretty out of step with nearly every other journalist outside Dickie V.....

Bilas and Greenberg had no recognition of the shadow that a leader casts upon an organization.
It was quite clear the 'tone at the top' was not acceptable.
Jay Williams was the only person on Gameday with any recognition.

It was 100% clear he had not researched this at all. I lost a lot of respect for him.

Bilas had clearly not read the report before he opined on ESPN, because he was taking about how the findings did not specify any actual violations; in fact, the 90+ page report was replete with specific examples of violations. I think once Bilas reads it, he'll keep quiet about what SU did to earn its place in infamy.

Amazingly lost in the flood tide of criminality at Seweracuse is the serial abuse of women by students such as Devenpuke, Melo, et al
That miscreant behavior, not governed by the NCAA, is as bad as any rule they broke.

Well, they had no written policy as to sexual assault on campus. . . .
Glad those guys can now sully a different conference by their mere appearance.

Apparently Jimmy B. didn't show for his press conference after the game today. Stay classy Jim.

Bilad is still pretty good analyzing a game; however his vitriol toward the NCAA coupled with his ACC background have destroyed his objectivity. I can't even listen to Bilas' in game analysis anymore because he spends half of the games he is calling going off about whatever crusade he fighting that week. It might be the NCAA, or officiating, or some coaching error etc etc. He just always brings it back to whatever it is that is bothering him and it completely destroys any objective analysis he may give and makes him unbearable to listen to. He started trending in this direction in 2008ish and has gone so far down hill ever since. His opinions are still as well respected as they used to be, even though they have lost a lot of substance, so hopefully people start picking up on his bs.

What's getting lost in all of this is that Syracuse students will be reading a 94 page report. Not only is that a University record, it's also a huge step up from the Dick and Jane and paint by numbers books. Silver linings people.

I think it's more likely that they'll simply wait for the movie.
