Sitting in the Dome ( my daughter's boyfriend is a Ga. Tech fan so she got tickets for all of us). Boeheim still whines about every single call.

Had to take the hazmat shower when I got home, but so far no side effects. Although I do have a strange urge to cheat on my taxes and sleep with Laurie Fine.

Lazy reporting - the article does not mention which Burger King Roberts is working at now.

The major constant that cuts across all of the players listed here? The myopia of the alleged leader of this program.

Nary a mention of Cuse deserving what they've gotten. They earned the penalties. Penalties aren't fun and are meant to be, ya know, penalizing.

From a New Jersey Devils beat reporter, in Boston for the Devils/Bruins game tonight:
Could Harvard already be looking for Tommy Amaker's replacement? And wouldn't Boeheim in the Ivies be a hoot?

Why not go after Bobby Knight? He's not currently coaching. Or if they want a current coach, how about Jay Wright? Why set your sights as low as Boheem?

This stuff is way more serious than a basketball rivalry. What the hell is going on there, anyway? Shameful.

This stuff is way more serious than a basketball rivalry. What the hell is going on there, anyway? Shameful. I do feel sympathy for SU Chancellor Kent Syverud (who is, let us not forget, a 1977 graduate of the School of Foreign Service). The reality is that today's information domain, with social media acting as an unprecedented catalyst, allows a small number of bad actors - or even just a single one - to generate a huge amount of publicity through low-effort and hard-to-track actions. It's hardly surprising that a place as big as Syracuse would end up being home to at least a couple of alt-right 4chan wannabe edgelords. At the same time, the campus climate at a predominantly white institution like Syracuse - in a predominantly white city like Syracuse - is undoubtedly marked by some of the same less-than-great racial dynamics that are all too common at institutions across the U.S. Incidents like this are usually just the firestarter for kindling that has been accumulating over decades. That's one reason why - and I know some folks like DFW probably disagree with me about this, believing it to be a case of misplaced blame - I actually think the Georgetown 272 saga will end up being a net positive for our University. The soul-baring and dialogue and reconciliation process necessitated by that history is one that should be repeated across a large number of campuses nationwide. That Georgetown was an 'early mover' in this regard will ultimately be to its benefit.

That Georgetown was an 'early mover' in this regard will ultimately be to its benefit. Nicely stated. And I agree with regard to Georgetown. While history requires acceptance, it doesn't mean, necessarily, that what's past is done or over. I think, at a minimum, discussion and recognition are important if we want to move forward and actually be the more perfect union to which we aspire.
