Last Four In Arkansas -- The Razorbacks got pounded at Alabama on Saturday, but their sweep of Kentucky still has them in the field for now. BYU -- The Cougars will rest much more easily if they win the West Coast Conference tournament; but wins over Stanford, Texas and Gonzaga have them just barely on the right side of the bubble. Georgetown -- Quality wins matter, and the Hoyas have them. They've defeated VCU, Kansas State, Michigan State and, most recently, Creighton. Those are more important than their 13 losses.Nebraska -- After beating Wisconsin on Sunday, the Cornhuskers now have four top-50 wins, including three over teams in the top 30. They appear primed to earn their first bid to the tournament since 1998. Here's another kind of amazing site that has predicted 73/74 at-large teams over the last 2 years? Guess which team gets an invite - and it isn't even the last one? Maybe all we need to do is beat DePaul this week? Weird, I admit, but here you go: www.unf.edu/~jcoleman/dance.htm

Even posting about the XXX tournament is painful enough but to ask any serious coach, player or even fan to begin to treat this like spring football or spring training is beyond anything even I could come up with in some of my incoherent type posts. no disrespect intended Sky.
To me there is only one thing worthwhile about the XXX a chance to win and advance and get the oppurtunity to have another month of practice. Not sure a team that figures out that we are not playing with our best and approaching a game as a time to eveluate would be able to beat some likely first round games against the likes of Manhattan, a rematch against High Point or even that big revenge game with Ohio U.
Even more disconcerting would be the fact that the XXX commitee would seed this thing by giving us 2 home games before a quarterfinal game agianst UMCP at Verizon and Feinstein would take credit for it. The more i keep thinking about it Esh may have had one good idea.

You gotta figure that a GU-MD game is a given in the NIT. Play at Verizon and you will get 18,000. I'd be there. If that happens then we definitely play our best 5. But otherwise I would give Hayes, Cameron, and Domingo lots more time. We really need to get a better idea of what to expect from them next year. 20+ minutes in an NIT game could tell you as much as 2 months of practice in the Fall. I agree that playing Lubick accomplishes nothing.

I agree that playing Lubick accomplishes nothing. Are you going to be the one to break the news to Markel and Nate that we're not trying to win any postseason games in their senior year so we can give some players that may or may not be part of our future plans more PT? What kind of ridiculous mumbojumbo is this? How are people possibly touting this as a viable approach to the postseason? In the words of one infamous Jets coach, "You play to win the game!" Would we rather play games in neutral locations for a four-letter tournament? Obviously. But treating an NIT bid like it's an October practice is just absurd. Some of you are borderline delusional.

the season is lost, enjoy a few more games and start looking forward to next season I haven't "enjoyed" many games this year. I feel like letting this team play much more would do irreparable damage to the sport of basketball.

Unfortunately for POD and Sky, my sources tell me that the team did decide to travel to NYC and participate in the BET.

Not suggesting we tank the season, just see if two p-layers are worth any further investment if we go to the NIT.

Is Thompson really going to learn anything about them in a few NIT games that he doesn't already know? Doubtful.
