Gotta say it once again. So proud of our guys for the hustle and effort tonight. Love how hard we played

JT3 is slowly finding a rotation and grove for this team. I wouldn't want to play them a month from now in the BET.
BTW I picked the Hoyas to win 65-60. Right score, wrong team.

Liked the fight tonight. Team is clearly finding an identity. Unfortunately, its still not the identity of a tournament caliber team, although its starting to look like a team that will give just about everyone trouble. Hopkins needs to stay aggressive. Reggie needs to find some consistency. We lost tonight because we lack the depth to challenge for 40 minutes, but frankly with a healthy DSR and the desperate spirit we finally showed today, we would have won this game by 10.
Oh well. Got my tickets for Michigan State. If Payne is still out, DSR is healthy, and we play like we did tonight, we should have a decent shot.

Villanova is better than us, as mad as that makes me to admit that. If we can't get to .500 on the year & don't qualify for the NIT the losses at home to Seton Hall & Marquette will be 2 of the losses that will haunt us this .

Gutty game by the steam. DSR clearly not himself. NCAA with inexplicable ruling on Ayegba. In the end, too many turnovers. That said, a lot to like about the team's hustle and no quit attitude. Hate to see Bowen hanging his head there. Nothing to be ashamed about. Played hard but it wasn't quite enough. Team has learned more in these five losses than they did in the five wins against semi-mid-majors.

Goddammit this team is just like 08-09. They're going to be competitive in every game and just have no idea how to win. That's a horrible analogy. That team couldn't win because they game up at the first hint of adversity. This team fights and fights and just comes up a bit short and generally being hampered by circumstances outside their control.

Team played hard tonight. They were a few plays away from making this an upset. Nova made the individual plays down the stretch and the Hoyas did not. Nothing to be ashamed of tonight, this team will get one of these games eventually, they deserve it. Nice to see some extended minutes for a few guys. Congrats to Markel for going over 1,000.

The sequence in the first half where we had to steal minutes with Hayes was a killer. Had a couple turnoversas a team in a row and couldn't grab some boards.
I thought the touch fouls on Nate were particularly gauling. We just can't seem to put it all together. Had tons of open looks but they wouldn't go.
A very well designed drive/reversal call by JTIII out of the timeout at the end there.
Great effort. Played well. Just needed one or two of those wide open looks to go down.

Solid effort overall, just not enough talent on the court tonight. Thought Starks, DSR, Bowen, Lubick, Hopkins, Cameron all did some nice things. Starks tried to do too much at the end, but can't really blame him. The 26-footer was not smart, though. Still think this team doesn't get to .500 but will support them win or lose!

Thought we couldn't get over the psychological hurdle tonight of finally drawing equal and taking our game to a higher level. Never could put together the series of stops we needed in the last 10 mins and we never had any reliable scoring aside from Starks. As much heart as they showed out there, you could tell we had hit our ceiling and once Nova doubled Starks to 35 feet.
All those turnovers and the free-throw disparity will do that to you mentality though. Can't say the refs decided this one but they really didn't do us any favors on the homecourt. We missed Moses who coulda helped out on the rebounding and defending Ochefu. Also, Starks' decision making in the last 2 minutes wasn't his best, but hard to blame the guy that played out of this world and propped the team on his shoulders. Can't believe DSR shot so poorly but I know he was hurt.
Actually, what I can't believe is the confluence of bad luck this team has had. Just when I think we can't get anymore depleted we get a suspension out of thin air from the NCAA and a rib injury to arguably our best player. Unbelievable really on top of everything else. This must be the most cursed Gtown team since Fred Brown threw the ball to Worthy....

When you are Georgetown and you lose this many games in a row, you should be proud of nothing, you don't have a right to complain about the refs, you don't make excuses about being undermanned and you certainly better win your next game no matter who you are playing against. Otherwise, you might as well change your name to DePaul, Seton Hall, Providence, etc.

I'm new to the forum--- after being a reader for a while, I decided I'd like to join in. Like others have said, I'm so proud of the effort the players gave tonight. Definitely glad to know that those are the guys wearing my school's name on their jerseys. Cameron was much improved tonight; he showed a lot more inside the arc with two big shots close to the basket. I'm looking forward to seeing if he can develop into a solid player over the course of the season and really work on developing his game in the off-season. He'll have a lot more to review after getting a lot of time down the stretch this year. Lubick and Hopkins had a few decent moments inside on both ends of the court. It was honestly heartening to see us finally have a decent game inside tonight.
Even after these five losses, I'm not giving up on this team. It was great to see the staff, players, and student section fired up for much of the night. Hope they can keep it up and show some real mental toughness in these coming days to shake the close single-digit losses. Watching the bench at the end of the game, the close losses are clearly grating on everyone.

Gotta echo some of the comments here. Proud of the effort. The Hoyas played just about as well as they could have under the circumstances, but it was just not enough.
This year season is just flat out cursed. Down by three with a chance to tie and Markel getting the charge call on a pass? That pretty much is a microcosm of the season. No consolation in keeping it close but still proud of the effort.

Proud of them. They played hard. We've been spoiled. I hope their efforts continue. But JT3 needs to fight for his players.

I know this is probably never going to change since we have been doing it for the past 3 months, but we have got to learn to defend our opponent without fouling them. Villanova is 22-28 from the line tonight. We are 8-9. That is 14 free points we gave them. Game after game this year we allow our opponents to attempt around 2-3 times more free throws than we do. That has got to stop, and that is something we can control. We don't have to use Josh Smith's grades as an excuse for that sad statistic.

I am ashamed of our players showing terrific effort, fighting through injuries, and playing terrific team defense. Is that better?

Otherwise, you might as well change your name to DePaul, Seton Hall, Providence, etc. This is silly. Our guys tried really hard tonight, they simply couldn't win because the offense isn't good enough. Despite that, and a significant FT disparity, our team fought to the end. It's possible to be proud of that effort without turning into DePaul. Enough with the negativity.
