I can't count the number of games I went to in HS for sports that I didn't care for and for teams that weren't very good much of the time. I went because I had friends on the squad. I went because they were my classmates and it was my school and I felt a part of it. Is that it? Is there no school spirit? Is there no feeling like the guys on the team are part of your peer group/class? Is the separation that great that the kids on campus don't know, even in passing, a guy or two on the team that they're willing to give up sitting on their butts for heading down to Chinatown for a nationally ranked group of their classmates and lend a bit of support? As a student, you may not be tight with many or any of the guys on the squad but they're your classmates for one and, almost as importantly, they are the most recognizable face of the University. Would it kill you to get your Chicken Madness an hour earlier so you could show up to support the guys that do more for the University than 95% of you will ever do in your lifetime? By the way.... if you haven't been, the games are FUN. I promise you they are. Basketball fan or not. They're really damn fun. It doesn't take much to get hooked. Give it a shot. Isn't that what college is about? Trying things you haven't been into before? Get out there! You don't get many opportunities to go to games and get those seats. If you're one of those sad sacks that are longing for your college days after the fact and, as a result, start watching Georgetown basketball just to feel connected to the school a few years after graduation, you're gonna kick your own a$$ for not having gone. Believe me.... I know plenty of people like that.

Hoyas are 60-9 at Verizon the past 4 seasons. Yeah, that's nothing to be excited about if you're a student.

Ho hum.... top 25 in the country every year. Sooooo boring. Our team ranking is better than our educational ranking year in and year out. No one seems to get bored of our academic reputation. Insanity.

The thing that blows my mind is that I think several GU football games this past fall had more students in attendance than showed up for the Marquette or DePaul games.
Less than 2% of the undergraduate student body is coming to the games. 98% have something better to do. I don't know how sustainable it is for any program at Georgetown to spend this much money on something that seemingly has so little impact on the lives of its current student population.

If they think they have "something better to do" then they haven't given the games a shot. It's apathy and nothing more or less.

Depressing thread. Precisely because it's so true.

More so than conference realignments, lack of funding and outdated facilities, apathy has been the true threat to the Georgetown program. Then again apathy may have led to at least two of those other primary issues I listed.

Do they check student ID's at the student entrance any more? If so there are going to be some Editeded off hopefully Cuse fans who are denied entrance.

You would think that individual game tickets would be more likely to be scalped and therefore even more deserving of extra scrutiny. For a silver lining, it does sound like all of the student tickets have at least been sold, right?

unreal. I knew they wouldn't show.
someone better send an email to mcdonough to make sure they check student ID's. If there are Cuse fans in the student section I may vomit
It's going to be SUPER awkward when the gameday crew is doing their normal thing and Verizon is empty. Good job Georgetown students!!!!

So you can see the future? Cool! How did the game go? Did Gtown win? ;D Im beginning to wonder if I read the same article that you guys did. They mentioned 7 (only 7!) tickets up for sale. And they talked to two people selling and two people buying! Im not sure how that points to no one being at the game.

Can't wait for you to see what Otto does in the 16th minute of the first half. Unreal May be an overreaction but I don't doubt that this sentiment is shared by the majority of students. As always would love love love and and praying I'm wrong. We need them there big time
