I am not going to put Indiana Basketball down-they have a great tradition and are a great program. People forget how it felt to NOT MATTER at all--and Georgetown was there when IU was playing in National Championship game we all wanted them to win--against the Terps.
As for Abraham--if he comes/sticks with his commitment. Welcome. If not, oh well. Either way, AFTER every visit he's been ready to "end the process/commit". So I wouldn't take the IU thing about him "wanting to go to IU" as gospel. Hell he said that about Georgetown, then Tennessee, then Georgetown again--after he cancelled his IU visit due to "illness" which is when he took an official to Georgetown, then went to Georgetown's NCAA Party, then his IU visit--he wanted to go there, and he ends up reportedly choosing Georgetown.
Thing is--you don't come to this site and criticize JT III for doing what anyone of intelligence would do--use a man--who happens to be his father and one of the best collegiate coaches at developing big men EVER to talk to the big man. I mean that is SMART isn't it? IU could've had Kent Benson, Uwe Blab, Dean Garrett, Ivan Renko (inside joke) talk on Creepy's behalf.
It's part of recruiting--and to hear Georgetown be accused of "shady" dealings from a place that employed Kelvin Sampson and Mike Davis--and all of the crap that is going on at Kentucky, USC, UConn, WVU, etc....please.

IU has other things to worry about: 2011 verbal reopened his recruitment.

Hopefully, he will deliver on the hype. In any event time to put the "war" with the hoosiers to rest. Most people here would not be so sensitive but for the resentment toward Rivers and his post-transfer comments. I think it is much ado about nothing. Would much rather lose out on a recruit to a Big Ten school for recruits than to another Big East school, Maryland, Duke, Virginia or the ACC.

I finally got around to watching the clips of PCA (didn't want too until after I knew Moses' decision). Goodman looked like the type of potential SF people have been craving (long, athletic). Quick shot and a lot of promise. Seemed to have to play out of position for PCA (I saw him defending in the post a lot and getting beaten there).
Moses, on the other hand, looked promisingly like Julian from the first half of the season when he was just a defensive force inside. I really liked that Julian and when the season seemed to wear on him, it cost the team a lot. Hopefully Moses can help bring that interior presence.
His blocks, that i saw, also weren't coming from the weak side which I liked. And he looks to box out a player but we gotta make sure he boxes out an area...saw some small guards sneak past him when he was focused on the PF/C for a rebound.
Those critiques as only guides for what I'm looking for in him when he puts on the hoya uniform, I'm excited!

Welcome to the hilltop Moses.
This is a very good get for us. If Greg ends up leaving...Moses will be be thrown into the fire and be forced to contribute quickly. Between him, JV, JB, Nate and hopefully some contribution from HS.... we'll have the bodies and the muscle to cover the 4/5 spot. With Greg back....watch out.

I think the real MVP of his recruitment are the brave hoyatalkers who pushed this thread to 40 pages.

I was Editeded off reading the indiana boards leading up to the commitment talking about how we were cheating to get moses and that we had a crappy program. Obviously not everyone, but there was plenty of crap thrown our way pre commitment. haven't checked post commitment yet but before they weren't exactly pleasant.

Obviously not everyone, but there was plenty of crap thrown our way pre commitment. haven't checked post commitment yet but before they weren't exactly pleasant. Agreed. Now they are all saying they didn't want him because of the shady handler despite a vigorous defense of Boncore during recruiting. They also have an unhealthy obsession that JT2 may have committed a violation by talking to Boncore (although 90% insist it was Moses himself) even though it was published in a newspaper for all to read and no NCAA sanctions have followed. Overall I will say I was impressed with their fanbase and the support to bring Moses there and like any board they have a few people who rehash the same arguments while ignoring rational thought. Also I like that the IU poster mentioned using JT2 to recruit, yep we sure do and I hope we do it more often and I will leave it at that. Good luck to IU, I have had nothing against the program and hope they land on their feet after all this mess is settled even though I am not a huge fan of their current coach. Finally and most importantly, WELCOME MOSES!

If Bobby Knight retired from IU vs. being shown the door, you can bet he would be trotted out to assist with recruiting. I still think IU will be alright after a few more years but I am not 100% sold on Crean getting them to the promised land.
My guess is they get back to being competitive and then they go for a marquee (but clean) name. I don't think IU would go the Calipari route and that is to be commended.

Well, to be fair, they went the Calipari route when they went for Sampson. He left a school under probation due to his actions.
Maybe they've learned their lesson, but staying squeaky clean wasn't a priority then.

Welcome Big Man. Can't wait to get fired up when you are stuffing the likes of Fab Melo and pesky big east guards. What will be your signature? A Dikembe finger shake. We gave up too many easy baskets this year. That will change next year.

Mocking comments about the Midwest aside, I will say this:
College basketball is a far better place when Indiana is a program to be reckoned with. College basketball this year without Indiana, UCLA, or UNC just felt strange, from a fan perspective. I look forward to IU coming back strong under White-Van-Drivin' Crean.
Although I wouldn't be hurt if that didn't happen until after Jeremiah left...

They already did--Mike Davis and to a higher degree of filth--Kelvin Sampson. Never had a problem with Hoosiers--they have loyal/passionate fans, great history/great program, and have beaten teams I can't stand in National Title (UNC and Cuse) and made a great run upsetting another team I hate (Duke) before falling to Terps. Just think if they are going to accuse Georgetown of "being dirty" they need to not have selective memory.

I still remember our NIT game in Chapel Hill against them and hearing "CBB is so much better when Carolina is in contention" and not one damn thing about Georgetown "getting better" when they had Doherty and Hoyas had Esh.
