1) I actually liked the smokey judging scene. 2) Our mutual friend the dickens book is the name of the novel that desmond said he will read before his death in seaosn 2 3) I think the what lies in the shadow of the statue was a code password. Like spies use to identify themselves. Those people working with Ilana were on the plane, but perhaps they didn't know each other and identified each other with that phrase. Since frank didn't know the answer she knocked him out. I think Ilana knew they were going to the island. I think she's working for widmore. She claimed to be working for the guy sayid offed on the golf course. Who of course was working for widmore. I think the case they were trying to carry was put on the plane by those people and contain supplies to achieve some mission. Hmmm, that sounds really good. I had forgot that she said who she worked for. Im guessing we wont find out for two weeks because of next weeks preview. I hope Frank is alright, he is a great character. He and Hurley are sort of like a Greek chorus, always dropping Meta lines on us.

Michael Emerson is a great actor and deserves an Emmy nod at some point. He's been nominated the past two times. He lost out two years ago to Terry O'Quinn (Locke). EDIT: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_awards_and_nominations_for_Lost Interesting to see which episodes they submit for the nominations of the show/it's actors.

Maybe Widmore kept this from her since he thinks the island won't let Ben die, so why even try? And maybe Ben recognized Cesar and used the confrontation with the boat to off him, and that's why Ilana just got real violent?

And Miles is officially the first to see himself. If he changes his own diaper, with he destroy the fabric of time and space? Or did Doc Brown lie to me?

Hurley is still trying to change the future (trying to prevent Return of the Jedi from ever happening) - when will he learn?

WHAT LIES IN THE SHADOW OF THE STATUE, DAMMIT!!!!! This is either going to be an awesome reveal in the season finale, or it's nothing (ie the answer is the temple or the smoke monster or whatever). Leaning toward the former. One of the more interesting things about it... Last week Ilana said it to Lapidus and everybody thought "Oh she's working for Widmore." But now this week the guys who busted out that riddle did it to Miles, and they were expressly trying to convince him not to work for Widmore, so they clearly weren't working for Widmore. So who were those guys in the van? I'm sure some people will say "they're others/working for Ben", but Ilana and them pretty clearly aren't others... So, more than just wanting to know what the answer is, I want to know WHO knows the answer and WHO are Ilana and the guys in the van working for? I tend to think that in the forthcoming "war" that Widmore talked about, there may be more than just Ben's team and Widmore's team. Maybe, Ben and Widmore are even on the SAME team, ie the island's team, and they are just feuding over who is in control. That may seem crazy and maybe it's not likely, but it's possible I think. I think maybe there is a common enemy of Ben AND Widmore AND the Island, and that's the people that Ilana and her folks are working for and the people that the guys who picked up Miles in the van are working for.... Who is that? Guessing it's whoever is in Ann Arbor and possibly the Hansos (they have to get around to some of that soon).

Is it just me or was that episode the weakest yet this season.

I guess I just feel like it was a whole lot of filler. We didn't learn anything we didn't really know before. We were teased with some stuff that will be come important. The guys who grabbed miles and Faraday's return. But we didn't learn anything. THe episode may gain importnace once we know more about these last two things. BUt Miles and Hurley just annoyed me in that episode.

Is it just me or was that episode the weakest yet this season. I thought it was one of the weakest of the season, bottom 3 for sure. But it's been a very stron season. Do you guys even remember how many nothing episodes we used to have to sit through in seasons 2-3?

Every time I see a show like this, I am reminded of the Simpsons jingle:
"Sorry for the clip show! Have no fears, we've got stories for years!"

I wasn't expecting a new episode, but I was at least expecting new content or a new angle on things we basically already know. Ya know, maybe just a gap or two filled...some little tidbits or added material of interest put out there for us. I zoned out from this episode a bit at about 20 minutes, but there wasn't anything new, right?

I watched 10 minutes of it, and the only thing I got out of it was that Widmore definitively was the one who dug up the bodies and put the airplane at the bottom of the Pacific. I don't think we were clear on who was telling the truth/lying about that until last night, but the narrator said it was Widmore.

Maybe something from the Shadow of the Statue folks, Claire, Rose & Bernard... hell, even Vincent. Vincent is actually Anubis, so it would be premature for them to reveal that at this time. ;D Obviously I was watching hockey and only catching this for brief moments, especially when I realized that it was just going to be a "here's what's going on for all of you whose boyfriends, girlfriends or spouses are making you watch this show..." recap. Almost positive I didn't miss anything, but I think the WP girls may still be doing a discussion today, so I'll check that out to see if anything was revealed...but I doubt it.

I didn't watch it. But that's interesting to hear that they confirmed who faxed the other oceanic 6.
I've been told the reason for these breaks is so that the finale is during sweeps weak.

I actually was duped into sitting through the whole thing (although I started fast forwarding a bunch at the end). Nothing new as far as I could tell.

I'm sure fans of "The New Adventures of Old Christine" are crushed.
