I went to the WCAC playoff games over the weekend at American University. Quinn Cook was again very impressive. He is a very smart player who can handle the rock in any situation. He has a great jump shot and can penetrate the lane when needed. He finished with 12 points in the game.
This whole DeMatha team is stacked. They start two sophomores (Quinn Cook and Mikael Hopkins) and have two freshman coming off the bench that see significant minutes (James Robinson and one of Harvey Grant's kids). I believe all 4 of these kids will goto major D-1 schools. Georgetown hopefully can snag one of these kids.
Side note- Chris and Austin were at the game sitting courtside together. Good the see former WCAC studs making it back to see their old squads.
-Mason really got a good one in Tashard Whack. Kid has an amazing jump shot and finished the game against DeMatha with 28 points. People behind us were talking about where he was going to play next year and everyone could not believe it was Mason. Most thought he would have gone somewhere bigger than a Mid-Major.

2011 table finally added (I've been busy at work, what can I say?) - it includes all players listed on Rivals and Scout as having interest in GU (or vice versa). I have not combed this thread throughly yet so let me know if there are any missing or any we can remove.

I like to start the bandwagon to get Mikeal Hopkins at GU now!,lol...Just like how hard he plays, he isnt the most skilled big but he gets after it, We need someone like that as a big coming in.

I know Coach Jones at Dematha speaks highly of him, and so did Deals at the Nike tourny last week. Hopkins is certainly a hard worker and a very likable kid. He just needs to keep developing his game and hit the weights.

Regarding Gilchrist: I was just wondering if we had ever cleared up whether he was at the Memphis game for us or for Memphis. He hasn't really mentioned us, but again as RDF and Grae have said, what kids say only matters so much...

He has visited and does like GTOWN, but everyone knows how this one will play out...

I have no idea who Le'Bryan Nash and LaQuinton Ross are, but how cool would it be to have a Le'Bryan and a LaQuinton on the same team?

Rakeem Christmas has been dominant so far this summer. From Scout today:
"Rakeem Christmas, C, Team Final – Every time out we wonder if we have him underrated as the No. 5 player in the 2011 class. His size, athleticism, wingspan and timing all factor into him being the nation’s top shot blocker. Against I-5 Elite he got a few blocks, rebounded the ball well and scored in and around the paint. Because his defensive game is so good, he doesn’t get a lot of credit for his offense, which is actually pretty good. He went for 13 points and six boards in the blow out win."
