Thanks for the response RDF.
So it sounds like Gtown is interested in Selby, but he really isn't interested in us. He is really blowing up. I remember last year when I wasn't that impressed with Kendall Marshall I was told that Selby was the better prospect.
The list of possible recruits is ridiculous. The MD/DC/VA is absolutely loaded in 2010. There are a few guys in the rivals top 100 from the area that haven't even been mentioned (i.e. - #54 Jerian Grant 6'4 SG.
BTW - I plan helping out the HoopScoop again at the Rbk camp. I haven't seen the roster yet, but I'm hoping a few of these guys attend. I know the Boo Williams & DC Assault players normally don't attend. Does anyone know who is attending what camp?

Starks has little interest in Georgetown? Don't understand. Any info on the Dawkins article on scout?

I didn't read the scout article but Dawkins had a great visit to Duke and now says that they lead. Hopefully none of that rubbed off on Josh Hairston who also was visiting Duke.

According to a few people over there Hairston isn't considering us anymore. Might have been a rivals article, I'm not sure, but those are the rumors.

Neither do I, but someone over here might be able to confirm or deny such rumors, apparently he was interviewed yesterday, or sometime after his visit.

Neither do I, but someone over here might be able to confirm or deny such rumors, apparently he was interviewed yesterday, or sometime after his visit. Sleepy, I checked the Rivals piece after his DUKE visit-- a few quotes from mom: "Duke did offer him a scholarship while we were there on our visit," Josh's mother, Natalie Hairston said Thursday morning. "They are the most recent to offer. He's got offers now from Virginia, Virginia Tech, Georgetown, Maryland, and he just got offers last week from Notre Dame and Clemson. There are a few others, but I cannot remember them all off the top of my head." "It was amazing," she said. "We had a wonderful time at Duke. Coach K was incredible and we really enjoyed speaking with him. It was a very good trip." "He's got a good problem to have," she added. "He's got a lot of great coaches and great schools that have presented him with an opportunity, so now he's just got to decide which is the best fit. "We are pretty much shutting it all down right now. He's got enough to choose from, so now we will just do our homework on these guys and find the right place. I would expect him to make his decision in the next couple of months - definitely by the start of his basketball season. Thanks Sirsaxa, who knows what some of those fans were talking about, it doesn't seem like anything has changed with us but who knows. It seems like he will be making a decision somewhat soon, so I guess we will find out.

When you say "over there" sleepy, do you mean at Duke? And you trust those people?

Everybody seems to come away from their visits with Duke really liking it.
I hope Hairston holds off and comes to Georgetown at least once more, ideally Midnight Madness. That's a long wait and he doesn't seem like he wants to wait that long, but that's when we're at our best. I am afraid he'll commit somewhere else soon.
Not too torn up about Dawkins though. I like that kid Morris a lot, and theres a ton of guard options in '10.

Hairston has been saying for a while now that he will make his decision likley before his junior year begins. I don't see that really changing and I'm not sure if a Midnight Madness visit to Gtown is going to make him like Gtown any more than he does now.
I'm not panicking over anything yet. Months ago when Hairston went to Ohio State for a weekend along with a bunch of other recruits people were thinking perhaps he would commit to the Buckeyes because basically all the other guys who visited that same time did verbal to Ohio State. Didn't happen. Of course Ohio State ain't Duke but the point is just because Dawkins or whoever else commits to Duke doesn't mean Hairston will follow. Hairston has been a Gtown lean for a long time and III has made him a top priority. There are a lot of things in the Hoyas favor and frankly I'd rather Hairston stick to his schedule and commit to a team around the time summer ends. Even if he chose a school other than GTown (and I still would bet on the Hoyas) at least he wil decide early enough for the Hoyas to concentrate on another player).
As for Dawkins, despite some thinking he was a major recruit for Gtown, I just never liked the Hoyas' chances for him. Its a shame he chose Duke though.

I hope your right about Hairston, because everything on the Duke board says Hairston is expected to commit to Duke tommorow or the next day. I know its the Duke board, but they were right about Dawkins commiting, so I'm not too hopeful about Hairston anymore.

That would be awful. The coaching staff has put alot of time in with Hairston. That one would sting. Dawkins to Duke, i kinda always felt that Duke would get him so that one doesn't bother me.

Losing Hairston would be a big hit--but it's still early--and you've got time to recover. If you lose players--better to lose them early-then after a bunch of other kids have committed. Hairston completely dropping Georgetown would be shocking--and it would mean that something happened of significance--because you don't go from being a leader/co-leader to dropped completely--which is what their fanbase is saying. Would you guess we have a better shot with Hairston? OR Roscoe Smith?

Roscoe's Dad is handling his recruitment and they are tight-lipped. The Duke folks said Monroe was coming to them too, blah blah. We'll see. GU hadn't offered Dawkins btw. I think they prefer the Morris kid. As for Andre, a really nice, smart kid who just needs to refine his mid-range and he'll be the package. Duke needs to get some bigs to compliment all these shooters/wings/softee's they are getting.
