Where'd VT come from? This sucks, from what I've heard on this board, he sounds like the ideal player for our system. I've gotten used to getting the guys we want. Not a big fan of losing out on one.

VA Tech, Duke, Ohio State (no particular order) That's what he said and it sounded like he's leaning toward Duke with his friend Andre Dawkins. Based on everything I've been reading, I am surprised too. What about Roscoe Smith?

I realize this loss is big, but atleast we have plenty of froncourt guys for the next few years, so it isn't devestating. When Hairston would have been a freshman we could have up to 5 guys in the frontcourt (Junior Sims, Junior Monroe, Junior Vaugn, Soph Riley, Soph Braswell). I realize Monroe probably won't be staying that long, but thats still a pretty good froncourt without him.

Soph Hollis too probably. Does someone who knows think this increases our chances at signing Spurlock?

I agree with RDF. This seems awfully strange to go from leader/co-leader to completely off the list. Something is up

Something is up Something is up...you mean like someone else made a commitment so now there's no room for Josh? Or too many cats at his position? What's your guess. 2nd Question for you ID Don't we need to bring in another guard in '09 or at worst in '10? Seems most of the top cats we read about are front court guys. Who are the top targets for our backcourt. Clark and Wright can't do it all by themselves!

Well according to some source on the Duke board we are still very much in it as of today and he hasn't made a decision, but Ohio st and Duke were the best visits. That is the only positive rumor I have heard but since it was on a message board I doubt it is reliable. But the guy also knew where Hairston was last night(creepy) and who he was with (creepy again), so it may have some merit. Honestly who knows, but I just want to get some good guards from this class since that is where our need is I think.

I think Jason Morris is high on the list for 2010. CJ Fair, Thorton, Atkins, Starks, Anthony Brown. Morris and Brown are both 6'5 and have GU in their final 3. Travis McKie too.

Can anyone comment on two other 2010 guard prospects who have been mentioned as Hoya recruiting targets: Will Barton from NCA and Keith Appling from Pershing HS in Detroit?

Let them know that JTIII turns Indiana outcasts into NBA second-rounders.

Let them know that JTIII turns Indiana outcasts into NBA second-rounders. While Coach K turns top five high school players (McRoberts) into second round disappointments.

And amazingly enough both were accomplished in just two years.
Second- I think balla is still recovering over the joy of not getting Story.

does Harriston project to be a 4 or a 3 in college, how about int he NBA. If he were to come here in 2010 we'd most likely have a Junior Sims, a sophomore Riley, a red shirt sophomore Vaughn, possibly a sophomore Braswell and possibly a junior Monroe as bigs. That doesn't leave much room for Harriston. However if he projects to the 3 it would really only be him and Thompson in '10.

Right now Josh Hairston is closer to a 3 than a 4. For comparison sake, let's say he's closer to Dajuan than Jeff. He projects to be a four though; taking growth and development into account. Has to tighten ball skills as a three, yet get stronger to be a four.
