I made the same suggestion on HR but most don't think that's too likely.

Pearl sounds like a class act...not sure I'd be so gracious.
Rumor has it that Pearl has been in contact with Omar Wattad ....wonder if Selby's departure improves his chances. That said, Wattad to Tennessee would make no sence to me... don't see the kid getting anymore playing time there than he did with us.

Fab Melo to Syracuse according to the local (Syracuse) sports station and Syracuse.com. Interesting to see how this impacts DaShonte Riley -- looks like he's playing behind Onawaku and Ricky Jackson this year, then Melo next ....
The cynic in me hopes he gathers a lot of spinters on the Orange bench.

Markel belongs on that list somewhere above 50. Not playing AAU this season keeps him off the radar.

I'd eat a shoe if there seriously were 14 in this class better than T. Jones.

Ok, so I know that the recruiting sites are not the best place to get your info about possible recruits. But how is it that all of the guys that we talk about and/or have listed us, even if we don't have a shot -- Roscoe Smith, Jelan Kendrick, Josh Smith, Brandon Knight, Terrence Jones, Rod Odom -- do not have GU on their list of schools according to ESPN. According to ESPN, the only players we are considering in the class are Cory Joseph, Tony Mitchell, K.C. Ross-Miller, Dontae Thomas, Javon McCrea, and George Harper. I've only heard of McCrea (for obvious reasons) and Tony Mitchell. How is it that their info is so off, or is there an institutional bias against us by the ESPN recruiting guys?

Don't know about what's going on with Brandon Knight or Josh Smith. But from all indications the Hoyas are still in a very good standing with Roscoe, Jelan and, perhaps to a lesser degree, Terrence. Rod though could be out of the picture because the Hoyas supposedly haven't been showing him much attention (numbers crunch). I wouldn't get too worried about the ESPN lists because its the worst of the bunch when it comes to that. I can recall quite a few times in which ESPN does an update in which it does not list a particular team as a possible destination only for then that recruit to pick that overlooked school a month later. It happens.

Lists that are direct quotes in articles are unreliable enough for a variety of reason. Lists in databases are NEVER updated and the recruiting services themselves admit they never remember to do it.

Nice Starks writeup by Telep re: his play at the CP3 camp:
Markel Starks: Love the direction his jump shot is going. Demonstrated the ability to knock it down from deep and was successful from mid-range. Had a great attitude all weekend.
