If it wasn't clear to anybody, the implication here is that one of em might be our guy (Nate). That's not at all clear to me. Strikes me as rank speculation.

If it wasn't clear to anybody, the implication here is that one of em might be our guy (Nate). That's not at all clear to me. Strikes me as rank speculation. Obviously it is not at all clear that it IS Nate, or that it is even happening. I'm saying that if it wasn't clear to anybody why jhoyafan was posting that or why K allegedly recruiting committed players is of any interest to us as Georgetown fans, that would be the reason. It's total hearsay, clearly, from an unnamed poster on InsideCarolina. And I mean, of course it's speculation. A concrete source is not going to come out and say "oh, Duke is recruiting Georgetown commit Nate Lubick." All it is is that there are some assistant coaches out there who think Lubick is going to de-commit and end up at Duke, and there are other reports saying that Coach K is recruiting a couple of players who have verbally committed to schools outside the ACC. Is any of this really solid? Of course not, but if you want to connect the dots you can. Doesn't mean either source is right. Doesn't mean K is calling Nate. And even if he was, doesn't mean Nate would ditch us for Duke. All it is is connecting two seperate rumors, and people can do what they want with it.

I'd believe it if Nate was a 2009 guard (which is what Duke needs), but what real need would he fulfill for them? They have a stacked 2010 class, and have no shortage of frontcourt players. Just doesn't make sense given their needs. Besides, there are still tons of 2010 forwards available...maybe they want to swap Hariston for Lubick ;-)

Hate him or not its unlike K to go that route. But if, playing devil's advocate, he was trying to get involved with Lubick it would get messy in the press because JT Jr. couldn't probably contain himself from going nuclear. Heck, he'll likely call K himself and give him a piece of his mind (not saying it would do any good). I still have my doubts about the Duke angle and one reason is because of the respect and relationship K and JT Jr have for one another. Its one thing to beat out JT Jr's son for recruits like Hairston and Thornton; its quite another for a guy of K's stature and success to pounce on a recruit who has already committed to a program which himself respects. My suggestion is for people to stop going crazy with speculation regarding this "story". Just wait awhile and don't always give in to doubt. It isn't as if we can change or alter any outcomes anyway.

Donte Thomas, a 6'2" guard from Ballou is listing Georgetown along with George Mason, San Jose State and Hawaii, according to Scout. Here's what Telep said today:
"Donte Thomas, a wing for God’s Glory, is going to be a mid-major priority. Drives it, strong and has winning edge."

Dawkins can only play SG. He has no handle and is small (6'3 1/2). He his a very good shooter and average defender, but he has good hops. He can't help them with their biggest problem which is PG, but at least it allows Scheyer and Smith to play more PG. Gtown never offered Dawkins because there were better SG's on the radar like kendrick (and Morris at that time before injuries slowed his development). But dawkins should be a good four year player. Nice kid. Now I wonder if BJ meyers will be consistent and criticize Dawkins for reclassifying and "bailing" on his high school What? No, not possible. Duke fans said he was ATLEAST top 10 in the 09 class and that NBA scouts say he could contribute on an NBA team right now! He is also a definite upgrade from Elliot Williams. No way they are wrong.

Thank you sir! Any more Rivals archives RB? It's a direct quote. He clearly says JTIII offered him an official scholarship. It's not some reporter saying it, it's direct from his mouth. If you're saying that's untrue, then you're saying the kid is a straight up liar. And if you want to call him a liar be my guest, but there is no 2 ways about that quote.

Spurlock actually went as far as saying he didn't have an offer from GU, but that he was very interested in them. Shortly after, UVA offered and he accepted. Dawkins, when I spoke with him, gave me a list with Hoyas on it, but again no offer. He then went on to say that Coach K had been in contact recently (back then) and he was interested in going to visit Duke. The rest is history.

Once again you are proving that you do not know what you are talking about. It does not mean crap what a rivals article says as everyone knows. He NEVER got an offer, and you or anyone else can ask him. As Idhoya and tony have said they directly asked the kid themselves. ID asked him last summer just a couple of weeks before he committed to dook(long after that Rivals article), and Dawkins said that he NEVER got a GU offer. So you keep talking out of your butt and going off of rivals.

Does it really matter if Dawkins got an offer? He's going to Duke, and he's as good as he is, whatever that is.

Only one EDIT decided to make it an issue, now if Biggie McClain could just leave cincy and gain immediate illegibility to play at GU.

Yeah, its been the buzz of the day. Vols fans think Kentucky, Nike, Calipari and WWW are involved. Supposedly Pearl was in Israel when Selby let the world know of his dcision via Facebook.

Hmmmm. Duke needs backcourt help. I read some where that there were a couple of non-ACC commits that Coach K was interested in. Y'all sure Duke isn't involved?
