How many A's are there in Virginia?

Three (A,AA,AAA) but it doesn't mean a heck of a lot. Most of the AAA schools in No. Virginia east of Vienna are really small without many good sports teams. Single A schools often beat the local AAA schools in football and basketball despite much smaller student pools.
I'm pretty confident that the AA all-stars could give the AAAs a very, very good game and I certainly wouldn't put the odds against them at all.

Wasn't Tyler Crawford an AA All-State in VA? Or was it A?

It was one of those. Yes Tyler "aka Air Force 1" Crawford was indeed an all-state selection.

How many A's are there in Virginia? yeah, there are 3 levels in VA. Josh plays AA, which is not much competition for him. It certainly is not the level of a WCAC...

Another California wing showing some interest in Georgetown. Anthony Brown Huntington Beach. Seems to fit the current GU model, good student young for his class. Also a positive blurb on Hollis. www.fullctpress.net/08pangosreport1.html

But the main scouting services dropped him down the list anyway despite an impressive (overall) Spring? I know, I know. Rankings don't mean jack, blah, blah, blah. Still its an insult to Hollis IMO. Of course Hollis probably does not care.

Of course Hollis probably does not care. You're right... Hollis has been hailed as one of the top 10 players in his class and at other times is listed as just another 4 star recruit. My guess the reason for this is that Hollis' style of play lends itself to success without necessarily filling up the stat sheet. Don't get me wrong, when Hollis wants to shine, he does, and does so at will. He has the ability to take over a game and usually does so in the 4th quarter when his team needs him to take over. However, during the regular flow of the game, Hollis is happy being the consummate team player. If Hollis is running a 2 on 1 break and could easily take it himself and finish.... Hollis will pass (regardless of how likely the recipient will finish) just because its the right play. So in the end, while his stat line won't jump off the page.. the kid will lead you to victory. And you're right MCI... I think Hollis may not really care.

Since I don't feel like rereading this whole thread, and since recruiting season is upon us, I was wondering who our top 2010 recruits are right now, and how high they are on us/other teams. I know we are recruiting Hairston and Dawkins and both just came off a visit to Duke, but other than that there hasn't seemed to be much recruiting talk about this class lately.

BTW, although RDF kinda mentioned it, the listed kids are from the D.C./Virginia area.

RDF or anyone else in the know...Is there a reason that Travis McKie isn't on the list? Is he a step below the other wings (Hairston and Smith) on the list in terms of talent?

McKie is 2011 I believe. Even if not, there are other cats GU is more involved with.

Another player that I'm curious about is Josh Selby. He is having a great spring/summer so far. He played extremely well at the Nike Hoop Jamboree and at the NBA camp.
When the post summer rankings come out, it is likely that he'll be ranked higher than Thornton, Atkins, Starks etc..
I noticed that he isn't listing Gtown as one of his schools. Are we actively recruiting him?
If not, does anyone know why?

I know a few people have mentioned him on this board in the past few months, but I don't really know much about him.
