Pretty funny stuff. I was laughing the whole blog.
Scary, but if you want to wear a chicken outfit who is to say you shouldn't?
Nothing wrong with a little school spirit....?

I think it's hilarious, although I could have done without the picture of the passed out kid with... tribal drawings... on his face.

Not embarassing (except for the kid who got written on, and then , really, just embarassing for him).
I am happy to see college kids acting like, well, college kids, instead of complaining that they can't be expected to go to game x or game y because they have a final in two weeks and they can't spare the 3 hours of their overscheduled life to cheer on the Hoyas!

I can't believe the Post printed the picture of the passed out, markered-on guy on their site. For those that didn't notice, he has the thing that makes a male a male on his right cheek. The Post has no problem with that??

I think that anyone who knows the student should encourage him to wear the "member" on his face for the duration of the winning streak, kind of like a playoff beard.

kind of embarassing in terms of it will be easy to use this as fodder for other schools such as UMD and GW fans who will probably read this. The other thing that stands out is that it would be the same at any student section at any big team on any big sat. game but we have the fantastic luxury of having beer at the game so we dont have to come wasted and hope our buzz doesnt wear off.

If the school gets wind of this and tries to prevent beer sales at games as a result, pee-pee face is going to get a visit from some very angry hawaiian-shirted guys . . . .

I talked to several of the students - they said that they were driven to drink by the lack of RR part 2.

it is more than embarrassing, it is concerning. specifically the part in Colin Behr's quote where he says "That means we do whatever we want to do."
this is the exact sense of entitlement attitude that recently surfaced in the duke scandal.
it will also bring about efforts by the University to end the sale of alcohol.

I wouldn't really be worried. I don't they really could say anything that would matter and not be completely hypocritical. "Gtown kids are lame! He-HAW! Why don't they burn some couches like real men!? PSsh"? That kid tho.....wuss.

This is also a good opportunity to point out to people who were offended by RR part 2 that far more offensive stuff goes on at Verizon center than students yelling "You suck" at the other team.

Two thoughts on this...when a member of the press goes to interview excitable students who have been drinking stuff like this happens and it's fairly unsurprising. Do I wish our fans weren't portrayed like this or conducted themselves like this, sure, but the worst thing about it is it gives fodder to morons at other schools about what kind of kids go to GU. Of course, their worst transgressors are every bit as bad as the lot portrayed here.
Second thought...This Steinberg guy goes to a GU game, featuring the top two teams in the Big East, and this is what he comes away with? If I was the Post I would be fairly ashamed to publish this, more or less keep this guy on the payroll.

I don't think it's a sense of entitlement. I think the kid might have been referencing the vandalism on campus when talking about pitt "doing dirty"... If our retaliation for them vandalizing our campus is some enthused students wearing costumes to a basketball game, we're in good shape not to replicate dook.

The comments to the blog post are already taking the pro-Maryland stance. Not a surprise. The thing that I find to be disappointing is that these kids who come for one or two games are the face of the student section instead of the Hoya Blue-type crowd that lives and dies with every game. I'd much rather have the 70 who camped out for Big East tickets represent my student body and section instead of these costume wearers.

I asked him why. Something (excitement, perhaps?) prevented us from having a coherent exchange of information, but luckily his friend, Colin Behr, stepped in. "Cuz he's dirty man, he's dirty," Colin explained. "You do dirty, you get dirty done to you. We're Georgetown, we don't mess around." i do not see the connection as vandalism on campus was never mentioned

Fury! This kid probably drank too much hard stuff in the AM...not good. maybe. or a upperclassmen or grad student could have purchased him liquor at the game. either way, this article supports those who say alcohol should not be served at college events, on campus or otherwise. the University has no choice but to seriously look at ending the sale of alcohol. God forbid this ever happens, but can u imagine a drinking and driving accident occurs, and the party at fault is a underaged student coming from a game where alcohol is served? especially with this article/blog being on record?
