So we like to get drunk and do stupid things, Oh No we are no longer an elite university! If anything I love this new exciting atmosphere, sign of good things to come

this whole thread is so indicative of this board, a bunch of incredibly uptight people who edit the word "p***ed off" ... honestly, you guys are more prude than the people over at www.themarriagebed.com/this is coming from an 03 grad who WISHES we had this kind of enthusiasm at games ... i love sitting in the young alum section and watching these kids go nuts Wow, way to take a funny, light-hearted article about drunk, costumed students at an amazing basketball experience and turn into an article about class, war, rape, and other serious issues. Let college kids be college kids. Let them have a good time. Seriously, all you people in the fun police need to sit down, have a beer, and learn how to enjoy yourselves, or at least how to appreciate other people enjoying themselves. The enthusiasm behind Georgetown basketball is incredible right now, and apparently some Georgetown students can drink a lot, have a good time, and be very creative. I think that's the main point behind the article. I thought it was hilarious, especially considering I was working at Copley RHO with "Pikachu" when I started reading this.

This thread was exactly the laugh I needed after the loss tonight -- thanks.
I thought the parrots and chickens and so on were great.
I have no problem with students drinking before games. And with people knowing that the students had a couple.
I have no problem with students buying beer at games. Granted, during my days I would have saved my $7 for a pitcher at the Tombs after the game, but you know, some kids are born with the silver spoon and all that. Besides, in the band we weren't allowed to drink. Well, at the game, anyway.
I do have a slight problem with the students who are just flat out obnoxious. Like the four guys who got on the Metro at Rosslyn, reeking of booze and drinking beers on the Metro itself, while shouting and carrying on and falling all over themselves. That's just pathetic and sick, especially at noon. My problem is only insofar as that reflects poorly on Georgetown, but really I just feel like they are mostly embarassing themselves and that most people can judge they are the outliers (especially when the other 90% of the students on the metro are showing some class -- or at least the ability to hold their liquor). I mean, if some guy wants to drink so much that he passes out and misses an amazing game, that's his deal. I personally think he should have wasted his parents' money at the likes of 'Cuse, but that's just me.

In fact, one of the referenced mascots from the Carrier Dome was my Georgetown interviewer. His daughter graduated from GU a few years ago, coincidentally(?) with the same first name as the emailer.

I've heard a lot of Georgetown critics say that we take ourselves too seriously and don't have enough fun at Georgetown. Hopefully this article goes some way towards proving them wrong.
Anybody with me for dressing up like random animals for the BET?
