Not to pile on but went to Kenner last year and came away not seeing much there with Bristol. Not even bad, just nondescript.
Haven't been yet this year, but watched a video of his game's highlights this weekend and Bristol looks like a completely different player.

This kid seems like someone to really build around. Would think a lot of recruits would be excited to play alongside him.

The thing is now that we have a legit coach, I don't worry as much about the individual talents of any one player/recruit. The key is how it all fits together. And yes someone's desire to be here and the commitment to being all-in is obviously a big plus. Along with unselfishness and a winning mentality.
Don't get me wrong you still need top talent, but I trust Cooley - and staff - has a vision of the final product he wants and how the puzzle pieces fit.
Add in the DC buzz as a major intangible. If we get a bunch of DMV kids with that local pride it would be a wonderful thing.

We need to be patient and let things play out. Things are so different these days - top guys continue to enter the transfer portal. The roster was left in shambles. Cooley also needs to balance the short-term with the longer-term. I think he's done a very, very solid job so far.

This kid seems like a phenomenal pick-up and a perfect foundation piece.

Amazing job today by the new coach - really thrilling to see! While I had been hoping for Pitino, I couldn't be more excited with Ed at the helm. The future looks bright!

If Cooley is a no go, I'm quickly pivoting to Pitino and Shrewsberry.

I'm surprised Ryan Odom doesn't get listed more as an option. Obviously had the UMBC-UVA miracle, and now having a great run at Utah St. This year top 10 in 3 point percentage, effective FG%, and assists per game.

I still cannot believe we would not go after Pitino, and potentially have to settle for a second-tier candidate. This is arguably a top 5 coach of all time and he is still raring to go! And seems to want us. What are we doing?!?

Cooley is a 'high floor' candidate, but isn't it weird to switch within the conference? I still can't wrap my head around that.

Degoia you must act like you understand the urgency of the situation. Every other program in the conference is playing for keeps at this point with their coaching hires and overall aspirations, save maybe DePaul. And if St. John's gets Pitino that's even more true....exponentially so.
The idea of St. John's taking Pitino out from under us is infuriating. Now we are getting on our moral high horse?!? Let's not even start with that - hypocrisy of the highest order, starting just with all our transfers and off the court crap.
