Wishcasting on recruits has a long and storied tradition here. It’s part of fandom. I’m more interested in why he left because I think he would have a role. Of course, we will never know that. Of course it is - but it's completely hypocritical to hype up guys when we're recruiting them, then come back when they leave and say they were never that good in the first place. It's a classic move used by the Ewing/Thompson-first fans. HYPOCRISY POLICE IN ACTION! WELL DONE, LAD!

I tried not to laugh at this but I admit I did... Yup, pretty much like those hilarious Nova fans that held up signs saying “Ewing can’t read this”. Comedic gold. hm Yeah, this is over the line.

I don't even understand what we are doing with roster construction at this point if Heath gets a waiver. We have Primo, Harris, Anglin, Murray, Heath, Bristol and Riley for for 1 through 3....and not even crazy to suggest that Bass' best fit is at the 3. Someone tell me how Anglin get minutes? Maybe even Riley? Who is our starting PF? If Mutumbo is our starting Center and get hurt/foul trouble next man up is a guy after 3 years had to shoot one handed Fat's because he hasn't developed any type of offensive game? Wow.... Now more than ever I think someone (not mentioned or someone we've lost sight of) is waiting in the wings. I HOPE Was Jay Heath even mentioned on this board or by any of the most active Hoya-related Twitter accounts? No one knows anything when it comes to this program

So we hired an assistant coach to bring in Tyrell Ward, and he failed to bring him in? Is that right? We hired an assistant coach with ties to local AAU programs and has worked at other HM programs. Ward would have been a cherry on top but I doubt that was a condition of his hire. He also just brought us Heath. Yes we didn't get Ward. Screw the Cuse kid, he's not the answer anyway. You're going to lose more recruiting battles then you win. Add in transfers having to make quick decisions and NIL we will continue to lose a bunch. I made a mistake coming to the board today, it's been taken over by doomers. The sky is falling and we're going 0-20 again. Back to lurking. If you'e talking about Brooks, it's not at all clear that we've hired him. Such a bizarre program at the moment.

Interesting, I didn't know that Brooks was prone to twitter rants and is tied to a single kid. You want Tyrell Ward, you hire Jordan Brooks. Doesn't matter how bad of a college basketball head coach you are - that pattern is clear as day. It will have happened twice within the past year. Brooks makes a nice pay day for Ward's one year on campus. Year 6 of the Patrick Ewing era, ladies and gentlemen! Never Stop Never Stopping

For what it’s worth, which is not much, I stopped rooting for Georgetown last year. I will pick it up again when a new coach inevitably comes in in one, two, or three years. Patrick Ewing is a bad coach. He’s bad at coaching basketball. He has no chance of making Georgetown a respectable program, let alone nationally competitive. He is totally incompetent. Every transfer, every loss, every humiliation is necessary in order for the program to turn around. So I am hoping for mass transfers and a team of walk ons that lose to Saint Leo’s. The worse the better! This is the only rational approach to this mess. Then why are you still here?

And I bet there’s far more long-term fans of the program who are in this position yet similarly silent. Or, mostly silent. Looking forward to when you’re back in the fold, Frank. I understand the sentiment entirely.

the recruiting / transfer record is eye popping. velocity of turnover is crazy. Add to this that GU recently terminated 2 assistants. therefore, we have turnover in player roster and coaching staff. the one constant ..... the HC. these are simple facts. how could prospective players not do any diligence whatsoever never mind there's customary back channel stuff and rumor mill etc.., Don't programs sell "against" each other?? "If" they do .... GU has some real strengths but also a recent record (w/L, recruiting wins, transfers etc..,) that isn't exactly enviable I would actually put Ronny Thompson and Jack DeGioia higher on the list of "constants" than Ewing. At this point, I actually think Ewing is merely a symptom (though an incredibly overpaid one) of the larger problem. Until DeGioia and/or Ronny go, the sad state of this program will continue. I had hoped that Ewing would care enough about his alma mater to call it quits after this past season. Instead, he dug in to collect what remains on his contract, throwing his assistants of 5 years and players under the bus in the process. He is legally within his bounds to do what he did, but he's clearly shown that he cares more about enriching himself than the good of Georgetown University. Anybody that ever thought he was a good guy should no longer believe that, based on all evidence over the last 5 years, particularly the last couple months. I also believed strongly that DeGioia would do right by the university and make the easy (by logic) though difficult (in terms of personal interaction) decision to part ways with Ewing and Ronny Thompson. I recognize the horrendous contract extension handed out by DeGioia/the Board last offseason made him feel like he couldn't get rid of Ewing. However, he's now just throwing good money after bad, which is even worse. In the meantime, I think he's risking the reputation of Hoyas basketball as a clean program that has larger aims than just winning games (including aims like providing a phenomenal educational opportunity to its players). You know less than nothing about this situation, as you have proven time and time again. Why are you wasting your time posting on this subject. Stick to our recruiting updates, please. TIA

Seems like Primo Spears will be committing to us shortly. Love it or hate it we now have guard depth. In a perfect world they would have added an older/grad transfer to compete for PG minutes, but the Hoyas are not working from a position of strength, so adding a player like Spears, who has shown for a year that he can compete at the D1 level, is not a bad pick up. Hopefully both he and Dante can focus more on making their teammates better, as opposed to looking for their own shots. I like getting a guy like Spears, who it sounds like he can play the 1 or the 2, and has a few years left in his college career. Last year it really seemed like the staff (or maybe just Ewing) had no confidence in Beard and that caused them to play Dante for far too many minutes, no matter how effectively he was playing. Hopefully they feel comfortable with Spears and Dante splitting minutes and keeping them both fresh for the end of games. That is a better solution than "hoping" Denver is ready to come in and play the point as a freshman. I think Denver is going to be an impactful freshman in a lot of ways, but forcing him to be a primary ball handler as a freshman might have been risky. I'll take Primo for his name alone

Georgetown one of the few schools not to reach out to Scheiermann; great, great player. Long shot but so are many we do go for. How could we not reach out to that guy? Makes no sense

Goodine is a rising senior! Quick, someone throw me some pearls to clutch! This is outrageous! Not quite the same considering Gooding transferred in after his frosh year @ Syracuse plus he played less than 5 minutes per game as opposed to Tim I. who started most of the year for Gtown... Since we're playing the whataboutism game did PE state anything publicly about Tim I's departure? Still both rising seniors. And let’s face it Tim was a battlefield promotion. As for Ewing, he’s pretty bad at every part of his job, so I’m not surprised he didn’t say anything publicly. He should have.

Well this is good news no matter what Mr.Young says. If says GTown our PG search is over and if he says another school or the pros we can put the full press on someone else. That’s some glass half full stuff right there.

Interesting… Why do you think he’ll commit? Nickleberry/Brooks "relationship" with Lamothe, particularly recognizing that putting near-term recruiting victories on the board helps justify Ewing's ongoing presence. The kid can decommit if/when the Georgetown administration comes to its senses following the 2022-2023 season and ditches Ewing like a bad habit. It's a no-lose proposition for Lamothe to commit now and it's a huge win for Ewing/Nickleberry/Brooks to put a 2023 top 50 ranked kid in the early commit column. Beware the Ides of March (or at least March 13)?

Trust me, I don’t have enough free time to comb through old threads and pull out numerous quotes in an attempt to embarrass other Hoyas fans. Also, work on your grammar. Sounds like someones feelin got hurt Also come back @ me when you can speak 7 languages (in Joel Embiid’s voice) My goodness, are you 10 years old?

Seems like a great use of time. Amazing how much free time some people on here have. You and Boya are both platinum hoyas who have both 5000+ posts on this board; are you being proud of how much free time you got? Trust me, I don’t have enough free time to comb through old threads and pull out numerous quotes in an attempt to embarrass other Hoyas fans. Also, work on your grammar.
