Friendly with Yurt also, saw he retweeted a couple tweets he (Yurt) was mentioned in. I think it’s time to offer Gultekin. I think he’s going to be a good one, and receptive to our pitch.

I think Marquette picked up Joe Chartouny (grad transfer).

For us out of town fans, especially, that would be awesome! Now we need to wait and see if the program still wants to act like the gestapo so far as media access is concerned. Old school days of JT would definitely not be an environment accepting of the "intrusion" of all those cameras at the KL. This will be interesting. Pretty much anything Mac does is being taped, edited and posted within minutes these days. I’ve never seen anything like it. You have to think Kenner league/sponsors will see the benefit of the immediate buzz coming from this. It will be fascinating.

Man, I want this guy to be a Hoya. Agreed. He would be my top priority big for 2019.

It's extremely dumb to draw any conclusions from a video of a practice for a high school all star game, but he's trying way harder than anyone else there and I love it. LOL Quinerly was trying...after McClung no looked his man and bodied him up trying to steal an inbounds from him. I love this video so so much. YaBoy you made my day with this. Got to love Mac and JQ going head to head. It’s a workout/scrimmage, but you can see the dog in Mac. Looks like he belongs there to me.

I've seen him play and he is fairly good. Solid understanding, good ability to get to the hole, good outside shooting, and decent handle for his size. Not the best on the court, but still has room to improve and listens for improvement (his travel team is incredibly good at improving players and taking them up a level or few). Thx Gael. Haven't seen him but it seems like most people evaluate him as a MM to MM+ type. Do you agree? I ask because he's not playing on the big circuits so likely he's going to remain under the radar... I like the looks of Gultekin. Versatile player, and it seems like he played well on a team with HM teammates (Quickly, Mathis). Having a Omer on the team probably helps as well. Might be a good fit.

Had been rumored as a possible candidate for Ewing's staff last year. Oh boy. And yet another team coming for the DMV. Really nothing new, but with these guys at Seton Hall, UConn, etc that pitch is a lot easier than at La Tech and Nebraska.

Oof. Well that ends that dream. Best of luck to Marcus and hope he gets a shot to make an NBA team. Very good shooter, and a Hoya for life.

That's because he's not a PG. Just moving him out of the PG role will make him seem much improved. If Mac proves to be a competent ball handler Jagan should start next to Akinjo. If not I guess he will be thrown back into the backup PG and people will complain even though he's playing out of position. Completely agree. Jagan, off the ball with a new found pull up jumper could be extremely effective. This. I expect big things from Mosely next year. It was a transition year for him (and all of the JT3 recruited guys). I think playing alongside a real PG will really open up his game. He’s already the best transition finisher we have, and with someone penetrating and dishing he will find some creases to operate in the half court that weren’t there before. He does need to keep working on that jump shot, but I’m confident he can do it.

Updated 2018 ESPN rankings: No Hoya recruits at all in their top 100. SMH. I love it. Bullletin board material.

Looks like UConn just filled their last scholarship with Yakwe from St John’s. I wonder where Xavier Johnson ends up. Very good player.

Don't know if we are done or not, but at least we can all stop obsessing on an hourly basis about who will fill out our roster. For the first time in a long time, I am quite happy with who we would put on the court if we had a 7 PM game tonight. Agreed. I think you pursue Killeya-Jones and grad transfer bigs at this point. If neither works out and Jessie returns than I think you keep that scholarship for now and see what happens.

Akinjo is a great addition and solidifies the program's back court for the next few years. I will say that a lot of people need to temper their expectations for next year. Anything around 6 ppg & 3 assist in 20 minutes per outing as a freshman would be a major win. I thinking more like 8 ppl and 4 assists, 2 steals but his impact will be much more than that. He’ll help everyone else be better by moving the defense with his ballhandling/penetration. More open threes for Pickett/Blair, some dunks for Leblanc/Mac and some bunnies for Jessie (if he’s back). I also think that Akinjo, Mosely, Johnson, Leblanc can be a good defensive lineup for end game situations. Just a huge Pickup for the Hoyas; i don’t think I could be more excited for any one player.

If both Jessie and Marcus both jump, Leblanc is getting big minutes. Might get them either way. Josh is closer to a 2 than a 4. Anyone expecting him to be a post player is in for a rude awakeneing. He is a good defender and rebounder though. Disagree, I think Leblanc will be a great fit at 4. He’s a good defender and rebounder. Offensively he’s raw; he’ll rely on dunks, and offensive rebound put backs initially, but I’m sure he’ll work on developing some post moves.

Yes. The expectation is that the NCAA will amend the transfer rule at its June meeting, taking away the requirement to sit one year for transfers in good academic standing. If that happens, Yurt7 should be able to play 18-19 season. IF he is in good academic standing (3.0 GPA?). I thought the reports out there was that there was a possible vote this summer but still a ways out from having a proposal and even if voted in would not immediately go into effect but have a delay of a season or two. And, I am personally not rooting for this to be approved for many reasons stated in other threads. That said, I’m glad Omer wants to be a Hoya and if he plays for us he will instantly be a potential All-BE player.

Absolutely fired up about Akinjo being a Hoya. Tenacious, and a fighter. Exactly what we needed and combined with Mac, Josh and Grayson it’s a program culture starting to emerge. Welcome James! Hoya Saxa. And I will now commence spending inordinate amounts of time watching Akinjo High School/AAU YouTube videos. Fired up!

It would seem that tomorrow would be a day for some information Why do we think this? Akinjo’s aunt/guardian replied to someone on twitter saying there was no timetable on a decision. So...who knows?

That's 6 of 7 CB's for the Hoyas. Someone named Dain Ervin holding tight to that UCONN prediction. His internet must be out. I presume Ervin will also switch now that Adams has committed to UConn Adams is a shooting guard. Landing him definitely doesn’t preclude them from taking a run at recruiting Akinjo.
