Bottom line... The players are playing scared and the coach is coaching scared... Scared of what? At this point Ewing's fate is sealed. Either he will leave/get dismissed after we lose in the BET, or DeGioia will make one of the worst decisions in sports history by keeping him employed despite his abysmal record. When I look at Ewing coaching on the sidelines, I see somebody who lacks enthusiasm and who doesn't seem to get any enjoyment out of his job. He hasn't been reported to be recruiting and traveling for that purpose for months. As for the players, I think some players are still giving it there all, others less so. Keep in mind these players have been in a hopeless situation for months - and for the players who were here last year, they have basically had 2 years of abysmal, basement level basketball. I do not blame any of them at all if playing for our program is depressing, because it has to be. Maybe the uncertainty scares them at times, but the one good thing they should all look forward to is that next year will almost certainly look better for them than this year, whether at Georgetown or somewhere else. We have talent on our roster this year. The coach is unable to motivate or put them in a position to win. Many of our games have been close at the half.

I thought the coaching staff stopped recruiting? 🤡 They’re recruiting for their next programs. 😉

I think St. John’s is the biggest competition for Pitino. He could continue living in Westchester and there would also be a lot less travel. For GU, the closest road trip is Villanova. At SJU, that Villanova trip is about the same distance, but SHU, PC, and UConn are all close. Plus the BET is at home. If his comments about enjoying the “bus league” aspect of the MAAC are true, this could be a factor. I don’t see him going to Texas. Notre Dame is even more sanctimonious than we are, so I would hate to see us pass and then ND take him. A coach who wants to win and can get paid isn’t going to let a little geography get in the way. SJU is going to be a harder program to turnaround than GU. Georgetown area is nicer than Jamaica, Queens. But I get your point.

On the bright side, if Ewing has ceased regular practices, it confirms that he knows he's gone at the end of the season. We haven’t been out on the recruiting trail. A clear sign that it’s over.

This team looks like it needs coaching. This isn’t preseason anymore 🤔

Even if we win our three remaining games we’d finish 9th or 10th out of 11 teams. I just don’t see Pat back next year.

Butler went ice cold from deep in the second half allowing us to win. It wasn’t our great defense, just missed open looks for the most part. Need a little luck to win on the road.

Murray has skills. He needs a good coach to get him to a higher level
