It remains to be seen which St Johns team will arrive as a result of this week's disarray.

It remains to be seen which St Johns team will arrive as a result of this week's disarray. It is hard to really figure out what is going on at St John's. I get the feeling that Anderson is not an easy coach to play for and is very demanding. He does get his players to play hard, but they are pretty disorganized often. The talent is not great, but it is not awful. There are times in most games where St John's is pretty impressive and exciting to watch, but those times are usually followed by times when you just shake your head and wonder what they are doing. St John's seems to want to get their opponent to play the same pace/style that they play, and if they are successful then St John's can win games. If the Hoyas are patient and don't have a bunch of live ball turnovers, then it is a game they can win

When in doubt go with the team with better PG play. If Posh is playing the Johnnies win by 5+pts.....

They are a defensive minded team with no offensive identity. If we apply a decent press to the presser they can be frustrated. In my opinion they have under-achieved this year.

Whichever team is successful in mitigating its own respectrive offensive and defensive weaknesses will win. I think the Hoyas may be able to pull this one out if Spears/Murray play a little bit under better control. I'm afraid that if Spears/Murray chuck up bad shots and Q can't corral the rebounds, it will lead to SJU fast breaks.

Posh being so good with his on the ball pressure may actually work in our favor. Primo will not be able to get his normal clearance for his 15-18ft Js. Which could lead to better ball movement like in the 2nd UCONN gm. I'm starting to feel a little better about getting to 3 conference Wsđ€Łđ„đ

St. John's is bad but I have visions of Soriano having Wahab for lunch last go around. I don't think Q has suddenly improved on that end. We need a secondary ballhandler other than Murray and I don't think that guy is on our roster. If it was me, I would start Denver and see what happens. What is the worst case scenario, we lose?

It was just five months ago that people were praising Mike Anderson and saying that we should go after him for the next coach.

I never heard that and MA was deemed a reach for SJ as he wasn't from the region. There are a lot of good candidates to replace Ronny and the hangers on. I just feel bad that Pat got caught up in all of this.

Another thing to keep an eye on tomorrow is attendance -- mid-week, 9PM starts always a challenge, and it's not like St. John's is much of a draw anymore (and never seemed to have traveled that well). Will be a far cry from the first coaches Ewing v. Mullin game for sure (let alone their last several games as players). Contrast to Caps/RedWings tonight at Cap One will be VERY stark (fan noise in concourse tonight; tomorrow, echoes....) I think the o/u on people actually there tomorrow is probably about 2500, and I sure wouldn't bet the over...

I probably wonât tune it but it wouldnât be the worst thing in the world if we lose because it is one more win in favor of keeping Anderson which helps our program as a whole.
If they win today and get a win or 2 in the BET then they can talk about NIT and âbubbleâ to give him another year

I think when Anderson was hired by St. Johnâs the general consensus was that it was a pretty good hire. I seem to recall they whiffed on a few people and then got Anderson very late in the process (later April). For a hire that late in the process, Anderson actually had a pretty good resume. But I donât recall either in 2017 or 2022-2023 anybody advocating for Anderson for Georgetown.

Another matter of interest tonight: Butler is at DePaul and if the Bulldogs have the bounce back win (will be their sixth on year) it will lock Hoyas in, win or lose tonight, into no better than #10 seed/playing second game (5ish) on Wednesday of BET. Of course, a lot of things would have to break correctly for the Hoyas to escape the cellar and the 11 vs 6 late game Wednesday no matter what (especially as of now both DePaul and Butler hold the tiebreaker over Hoyas by virtue of their wins over Xavier) and Iâve personally assumed the late game for a while now (have head a theater meatiness ticket for a monthđ±); nonetheless, thought if anyone was looking for something (else) to pay attention to tonight and which could be helpfulâŠ.

I just want to see the Hoyas play extremely hard on both ends. Some real fire on defense like we saw on Sunday would be great. Compete like crazy and hopefully get a win!

I'll be watching. This is a winnable game. Hoping for the best. Riley should be back and hopefully the guards gained some confidence in Q and feeds him more.
This is going to be an up and down game, good opportunity to give the bench guys some spot minutes.
