The fans have left the building for good. Winning will fill more seats, but the arena will still be relatively empty. We will rely on opposing fans to fill seats for select games.

Dante Harris did not participate in the Open Practice on Saturday. I thought it was reported that some players didn’t participate due to covid-related precautions.

We have better individual players this year, we have college-level stats to back that up. The question is how good can they play as a unit and the coach’s impact. Nickelberry gets an A, Ewing gets a TBD.

Convincing non-students to attend is going to be more difficult, even if we win a few games early. Money is only getting tighter thanks to Jerome Powell. 😉

Expecting a better team this year, but not a better crowd. Coming off 0-20 and money is tight.

Agree with you and Rothstein, we should flirt with 10-10. 7-13 would be bad and 5-15 horrible. We have good players, no excuses.

I would include Esh as part of the family business. This has nothing to do with race. Please hire an outsider of any denomination to clean house.

For those that were too young for all of big John, the jt3 years weren't too shabby. They get better every season. Calling those seasons a failure seems like you are only remembering the bad parts Agree. With the exception of the very end, even the bad JTIII years were pretty good. JTIII’s worst was better than anything we’ve got now. The second line should have read JT3 and I fixed it. He did have a nice run. The main point is that this program hasn’t succeeded by trying to make it a family business. I don’t believe it ever will.

Hiring JT2 was catching lighting in a bottle. The perfect person at the right time. Everything since then has been an attempt to leverage the legacy and has been a failure, except for the early JT3 years. The basketball office needs to be gutted by an outsider. The program is failing on and off the court.

This is what should have been done for the basketball team/program. Compare RT's resume to this gentleman's RT’s resume is a picture of his father.

We no longer graduate 4-year players. Someone threw away the deflated basketball. 0-20 after five years on the job will force you to change your philosophy or have it changed for you. It’s win at all costs now and the program will live or die off Nickelberry’s recruiting. Pat is still Pat. Interested to see how the new lineup fares in the BE.

It's a waste of digital space trying to explain stuff to some of these folks, because they only want to be contrary. They cry upgrade and moving the program into the present and not relying on the past. When that happens, they become nostalgic about the past-- The Thompson past which they admittedly hate... Jokers... How exactly has the program been moved into the present and away from past? We no longer graduate 4-year players.

We will be better this year, but I’m not expecting a huge uptick in attendance.

In the real world, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley are dropping all Covid protocols and requiring workers to return 5 days per week after Labor Day.
