It’s going to take us a decade & tens of millions of dollars to realize that it’s not the players, facilities, assistants, etc.

Once you’re on the hot seat, it’s nearly impossible to get off.

Four-year players aren’t happening at GU under current rule.

The loss of Jay Wright will devastate Nova. UConn may need a new partner atop the conference, maybe Creighton takes the helm. We are stuck in the bottom with DePaul. ☹️

We do absolutely nothing for the Jordan brand anymore. Just nostalgia.

Another idiotic decision by the staff. Afraid to compete and jeopardizes our key sponsor and good will.

Right on cue - this is their other tactic. If you don't take a public blowtorch to everything associated with the program (players included) or dare to question their posting approach, you are a "Thompson/Ewing guy". The university itself and the people in charge have already taken a very public blowtorch to everything associated with the program. That’s why we are where we are. They’ve burned it to the ground and all we can do is sit and watch the embers smolder waiting for the sweet relief of the last one to burn out so that maybe the process of cleaning up the ashes and rebuilding the program can begin. My greatest fear is that we don’t rebuild from scratch. Pat eventually leaves, but it’s effectively business as usual. Continued mediocrity or worse. Can’t fire the people that do the firing.

We have skilled players this year. We have way more talent than all of the teams we’ve played thus far. We are just doing less with more. It’s on the coaching staff.

With DePaul, Butler, Xavier, St Johns, and Seton Hall looking pretty competent so far, dare I say this is the deepest the league has ever been? With Nova down, it might be the least top-heavy ever too, as Creighton and maybe UConn, seem like the conference's only threats to have a Top 10 team. Feels like the type of league where everyone is going to beat up on everyone (like the year we finished 9-9, and that was good enough for T3). The downside of this, is it may not result in too many bids come selection Sunday. More like everyone will beat up on each other , except for us whom everyone will beat up on. Exactly, we won’t be in the selection Sunday conversation.

There is no recruiting pitch to give high school seniors right now. Same as it was: --Play in the Big East, lots of TV time --Hall Of Fame coach --Play at Capital One Arena --Education (though graduation is not what it was) What's not there right now? --Top 25 program --Compete for NCAA championship --Pipeline of NBA players from the programI was also thinking that freshmen get no run so it’s not appealing for a top recruit to come here and sit behind portal kids.

USN&WR thought they had all the power. Now it’s clear that a few Ivies could put them on life support.

How can a player maximize NIL value at GU if we play in an empty arena and lose most of our games? Plus, freshmen generally don’t play.

Real sad that I can see how this season unfolds. 7-4 OOC (beat either SoCarolina or Cuse but not both), 6-14 in conference (down year for BE and enough talent we’ll find out way to some wins), first round exit in BE tournament, 13-19 overall with a spin of positive progress from last year. Sigh. 6-14 in the BE would be a disaster after we went all-in on winning.

If Q is your leading scorer in a BE game, we probably loose that game. Can’t trade twos for threes against quality opponents on a consistent basis.

Not sure we could beat Creighton right now. They are a scoring machine.
