For all those who bashed Dante Harris all off season, this team is missing him big time. He is the only ready to play true PG on the roster. He understands what Coach Ewing wants and When surrounded with talent, he had shown he can play at a high level (MOP).
The bench is the only language some players understand. Coach Ewing needs to speak this language with some of his players.
The Jay Heath in starting lineup hasn't worked. The only time He stops the ball is on offense. Not a ball mover. Offense gets stagnant with him and Spears on the court together. His defense has also been liability. Expected some on court leadership from a 5th year player.
Primo isn't a PG yet. He's learning on the fly. Last season he was asked to score at Duquesne not necessarily facilitate.
For this umbc game, you start Anglin and Riley in the backcourt. Also Bristol should be first player off the bench before Heath, Spears, and Mozone.
That will get Heath and Spears full attention for sure as both have been playing wth no energy as if they have diplomatic immunity.

Go UMBC. I want to see this thing burn quickly so there’s no ability for the school to bury their head about what needs to be done. Any win calms the noise.

I wonder if this is the game that will light a f!re under the team, and turn things around.

I can't believe the GM and ownership once again provided Coach Ewing with not enough talent ... oh, wait a second ....

But not Dante, Cary. We need more than just better guard play than we get from Heath and Spears. We need upperclass leadership. Carey would have come closest to this. In fact, what we really need is a kid/recruit who played 3 years for the same coach and who has grown as a player and student. I hate to keep referencing Nova but look at a kid like Gillespie. Until his junior year you hardly heard anything about him. But after 2+ years under Jay Wright he was ready to play and lead. I think Jagan Mosely came close but his lack of talent plus the Ewing factor kept him from from really developing. So I agree, let's start giving our frosh more pt and let it be known to them and future recruits that if you come to GU and are willing to work hard and learn you will be rewarded with quality pt during your upperclass years. Right now Patrick is sending the message to recruits that unless you are a 5 star you will be stuck on the bench and if you do get pt you will be back on the bench if you don't immediately shine.

Four-year players aren’t happening at GU under current rule.

Heath is not upgrade over Carey at this time and hopefully we will get him to increase his play during the BE games.

Hoping for more from Murray, so he may be in the mix.

If you really think this team is better off without Don Carey, then you’re as delusional as the staff that brought in these mercenaries to replace him.

UMBC shoots a lot of threes (a bit over half of their shots are from 3) and make at a decent rate - 36%. If the Hoyas continue to refuse to guard the three point line, another upset could be in the making.
