Is it normal for opposing BE teams to have THAT dominating a crowd? I thought they were loud (at points louder than us), they were covering the entire upper level (except the 3 student sections), and they were obnoxious. Admittedly, a friend of mine brought 2 'cuse fans in our section, but they were very quiet--didn't even clap--which was part of the rules for them to get the tickets. But that Syracuse crowd was impressive at our arena. I don't remember thinking that to the same extent at any game in the last 2-3 years. i always noted the WV and cuse always show up to the games.. the problem as we all know is they are huge schools with tons of graduates, and all the ones buy the tixs for this game once they go on sale. So by the time the game gets close, the casual gtown fan has no chance to buy tixs.. The cuse and WV fans get loud... when WV won and the "go mountaineers" shant rang down.. really killed me three years ago. (what made me buy season tixs in the lower bowl)...

my 2 cents.. 1) I was in section 119 in an alumni section and it Editedes me off when people sell there tixs to cuse fans.. i was in front of the most obnoxious chick... really wanted to slug her... She kept saying cuse fans are more classy and then started saying the most stupid things... (couldn't figure her out, she was rooting for cuse, but kept saying feed it to hibbert.. weird) 2)what happened to our backdoor cuts... we had no inside penetration and everytime we did they stripped the ball. Our passes weren't crisp. we turned the ball over on atleast 3 errant passes, the most glaring in the first play in overtime. 3) live and die by the 3 ball.. when did we become a 3 ball only team? 4) summers needs to step up on the boards... actually the whole team does.. we got killed on it. 5) Rivers was great.. his defense was amazing against there point guard, who was killing us early on his breaks to the basket.. i loved the defensive substitions with ewing and rivers coming in. 6) hibbert seemed in effective against there center, 21. seemed like no one was feeding him and he wasn't getting good shots off. 7) students sounded great... crowd noise was good. drowned out hte cuse fans most of the time.. (except the chick behind me) 8) Refs were evenly bad i thought.... by the way wasn't that goal tending one of the last plays of regulation, with the three shot, that was obviously short, but atleast should have hit the rim, and hte guy swatted it away... is there something i missed from my angle? 9) lastly a win is a win.. especially against a hated rival like syracuse.. and teams step up in those games but as many have said.. and as the annoying cuse chick said.. we definetly didn't look like a top ten team. -m

hoya freakin saxa.
What a great game, some of the loudest crowd noise i have heard to date.
A Great rival reels
and an amazing finish. Ilove these guys.
I am too beat to write any more... except the refs were terrible today and ray allen looked like a beyatch on the sides lines...

I agree roy's number weren't great but he was involved in almost all the plays that he was on the court for. Good solid win. -M

but he is not shooting 55% from the ft line. and thus will be a serious liability in close games, as he will get fouled when he has the ball.
also i feel lik he gets lazy on defense and a person with a seven foot wing span should not be getting boxed out for rebounds. He doesn't position himself well.

Maybe its because I spent the days after the game away from the board, but I can't get over how poorly we played on Saturday. Roy was pathetic out there and our free throws and rebounding were abysmal. I don't understand how after everything this team went through last year, that our best player doesn't realize what's expected of him in order to help this team win. If we had played hard and just got beat, that would ahve been fine. In teh first half we looked like we would walk all over Memphis, even despite being down three at the half. I thought Roy was just in foul trouble and working to get other players involved. Instead, he was just too scared and impatient to do anything. It's not as though he's never seen a double team before. I can't say that I'm excited about watching our guys tool on overmatched American and Fordham squads this weekend. Maybe that makes me a bad fan, but I don't think any of us should be satisfied with the team's and specifically Roy's effort against Memphis. And this is what makes our terrible out of conference schedule even worse. The one tournament caliber team we play completely destroys us. I'd like to see the same focus and aggression against the good teams as we have against the bad ones (see Radford). Somebody wake me up when we play UConn or Pittsburgh. yeesh. <yawn> ...You have less than 100 posts. Your opinion does not matter here. You need to get into at least one confontration with hifigator, RDF, hoya4eva or MrSixer. You get double credibility if you get hifigator AND RDF to be on the same side of an argument with you! JTIII will let you coach the team against Fordham if you get Brasky to agree with hifi! speaking of hifi, i haven't seen him in along time. i guess all the hate mail finally made him leave... kinda miss him now.. kinda like when you miss that cold sore in your nether regions after you get a shot of penicillin... hmmm maybe not...

why did this thread move over to this forum... We are talking about a former hoya... i think it should have stayed in hoyatalk section on gtown ball. Why is the Jeff thread still in the georgetown bball section.
ps. sweets was one of my favorites and one of the only reason kept me hoping/watching during the dark years(esch) and was really saddened about how he did/doing in the NBA. -M

False. General Zod was captured. He was trapped in the fortress of solitude, like a middle aged man in a long-term minivan lease. I thought he was trapped in the Phantom Zone. I think the Fortress of Solitude is Superman's crib. general zod was in the phantom zone in the begining of the movie. At the end he is depowered and falls into the depth of the fortress of solitude. General Zod should be in gitmo and denied access to his attorneys. -m

let's not get ahead of selves... if we can take care of memphis then i might agree. There was some sloppy play today with some stupid turnovers.. (what is up with jwall, with his turnovers lately... ver uncharacteristic) but 3pt shooting is great, just need to get up our damn ft%. any clues why we are so bad?.. weird -m
