I'm pretty sure JWall is a point guard. Maybe you can say combo but there is no way he is strictly a 2. then why did he work on his shot 90% of the time this summer and his ball handling the remaining 10%. he considers himself a 2. trust me Possibly because we lost 2 of our best 3 point shooters and his handle was already solid. I believe he had a 3:1 assist to turnover ratio or something in that neighborhood. That sounds like a solid point guard at the least. And a point guard does not have to simply pass and dribble. Marbury, Arenas, Kidd, Francis, and AI are all point guards who score as well as play quarterback.

really? I guess I always figured he was the Point cause he is a big leader on the floor and handles the ball a lot. Anyone wanna confirm that for me? ok, let me try to explain this using the long version. wallace PLAYS the 1, but he is not a natural 1, and more importantly he does not consider himself a 1. what does being a 1 and a "big leader on the floor" have to do with anything? since when did the 1 have to be the leader on the floor? So we agree then. I can see you saying that Wallace is a natural 2 but he does play the 1. I guess we agree. As for the leader comment...I've always kind of looked at a 1 as the leader on the floor because the way I see it the point guard is the person who tries to calm down the offense and slow things down... Maybe I'm wrong but I think it makes sense.

name four that were better. Not at just scoring...at everything...like running the offense, playing defense, scoring when needed and feeding the bigs.....this may be a pointless arguement with you because I'm not sure you're too basketball-savy....but if you ask me, he reminds me an awful lot of Michael Jackson
Do you even know which teams Jackson played on?

Is a true point guard never allowed to shoot? By the way, just because he worked on his shooting does not mean its his top priority as a player. He recognized a weakness on the team and worked on an area of his game which may have needed more work than others(basketball intelligence, handle, calm under pressure, passing, breaking the press). And who cares if he is not this "true point guard" who must fill an exact mold. He IS a point guard and I also think he is one of the better point guards to play here.

They left J-Wall open from 15 feet all night. So he kept making them pay with an improved mid range jumper. So now it's fault that he made shooting his top priority? The point guard position is all about decision making. Wallace made all the right decisions tonight. I am far less worried about guard play now than I was about a week ago, and I'm not sure how anyone could feel differently after watching tonight's game.

Kevin Braswell, the same braswell who could shoot us in or out of games? ? conversation over mr. sixer, you just proved my point. I liked bras, but if you say he's a better POINT GUARD than wallace, you know ZERO about the game....please don't reference me again. we're done

Its really sad that were stuck in this inane argument instead of enjoying a 16 point victory and an incredible performance by Wallace. He was very good tonight.

I'll indulge,
this team does have more talent than the kb led teams, but you're overlooking the mentalities.
kb had the TALENT to be a top-tier point gaurd, but he didn't have the mentality. He didn't know when to shoot, nor when to get everyone involved.
put him on this team and roy goes hungry. put him on this team and jeff doesn't blossom because kb dribbled WAY too much.
see the point?

1. Jwall is a point guard 2. The Guard play was fine the only time we looked shakey was when we had all the freshman in.

top 5 PG in the past 20 years? i dont know about that but maybe by the time his career is over. theres a reason why wallace has led the team in minutes in both games this season. he would have played even more today if he didnt take that fall. kids arent even true point guards anymore... plus we dont even need a true PG in the princeton. just need a few heady guys who can break the press. am i totally confident in the press breaking ability of our team? no, but i think it will get better as the year progresses and i think its serviceable.
i just dont know how you make this post after we win a road game vs. a good team by 16, and after wallace had a great game.
