this is no knock on anyone, but we need a true point guard to get the team organized against pressure. we simply do not have that on the roster, and it is going to be a constant problem for us all season.

It's the 2nd game of the year. Everyone's feeling a little "unorganized against pressure" - just ask Kelvin Sampson.
Guard play is the slowest to develop.
It may be a problem come January or February, but we have time to develop.

Guard play will be fine. Wallace is a franchise player. Jessie is solid. Egerson looks good. Rivers will get there

Clearly we are an awful, awful squad. Our shot blocking is almost as bad as our guard play.

Uh, JWall was terrific today. Plus Sappy and Eggy looked good. No idea where this is coming from...

"georgetown's guards have been a bit sloppy tonight"
-game commentators
so i guess i was not the only one who saw issues with the guards when pressure was applied by a unranked team.
wake up folks! it one thing to be a fan, but do not be such a fan that you are blinded by the obvious

I thought Rivers played well as a supporting guard on the floor tonight.
Sapp will get there. Remember, this is his first time be called on to truly take control of the offense--last year he always had Cook and/or Wallace with him. To expect him to be on J. Wall's level as a perfect substitute is a little unreasonable. If it's the same in January we might have problems, but it's not a cause for alarm right now.

You really seem to be fixated on this point. See previous diatribe by mrsixer123 about all of our guards not being capable "georgetown's guards have been a bit sloppy tonight" -game commentators so i guess i was not the only one who saw issues with the guards when pressure was applied by a unranked team. wake up folks! it one thing to be a fan, but do not be such a fan that you are blinded by the obvious

J Wall was amazing today running the point, as much as you do in our offense. Sapp has a great handle, and just needs to resist picking up the dribble once he crosses half court. He does that though because he anticipates Green or Hibbs popping open at the top of the key at point forward. Rivers also looked really good for his first real test.
Our PG position is in good shape if you ask me, only looking to get better as time goes on.

I will admit we did look significantly weaker when JWall was hurt and had to leave but it wasn't as if we were atrocious.
