Last year, we had a thread to discuss the race to a winless season in league play. I had resisted the urge to create one for this year, but I think it is time.
As we entered this season, I did not see any chance we would go winless again. It’s actually hard to do — a team basically has to become proficient at losing.
Well, this team has gotten really good at losing. This team doesn’t do anything especially well. It doesn’t defend. On offense, we turn the ball over. We take poor shots. Plus, we haven’t taken advantage of our opportunities. Occasionally, we have gotten hot. We have lost. Some nights like tonight the other team has shot poorly. We still lost.
Maybe this team will win a game. I really hope so. But for now, I do think it’s fitting to have a discussion about the unthinkable — the possibility of back-to-back winless seasons in league play.

We are 0-7 in league play and have dropped winnable games to DePaul, Butler, and Seton Hall. At this point, any win would be a significant upset. It seems impossible, but here we are.

Pat, Jack, and Ronny deserve an 0-40 run. It’s an embarrassment you can’t duck or explain away
JT2, from the grave, deserves this on his legacy for pushing all of these unqualified and unemployable people on the program

They have no idea whatsoever how to win. the complete collapse that occurs the instant an opponent puts their foot on the gas at any point in the game, in every single game - is truly something I have never seen in any sport before. And i have watched A LOT of sports in my 61 years on this planet.
It will take a horrific night from one of our worst remaining opponents for us to win a game. This may happen. But I think there is still a lot of money to be made betting the money line against Georgetown in every remaining game.

So far anyone betting against the Hoyas on the Moneyline and the spread in the BE is 13-1. I really wanted to do it all year but couldn't stomach it.

But I think there is still a lot of money to be made betting the money line against Georgetown in every remaining game. It seemed to me like tonight was the horrific night. Seton Hall did not play well. They missed a lot of shots, played sloppy with the ball, and often gave us multiple chances. Yet, we beat ourselves with turnovers of our own, awful shot selection, and truly horrendous defense. At this point, the second halves feel like a foregone conclusion for the players, not just the fans. When the other team makes the run, we expect it to happen. Now, we could get hot, and another team could have a terrible night. The bottom of this league isn’t particularly good. But every team clearly is better than we are. Any win would be an upset. We really do nothing well, and we haven’t improved. I can’t think of an aspect of these games where we look better now than we did in November. The league games aren’t even close. Our closest loss is by seven points. And we have played several of the weaker teams already, too.

I don't gamble because I don't think I'm smart enough to make money doing it. But I don't think even Vegas understands just how awful this team is. Only those few of us who follow them closely know the true hopelessness of the situation. So I do think there is a gambling opportunity here for those of us with the courage (and bankroll!) to bet against the Hoyas in every game/especially every second half.

I haven't looked at the 2nd half spread results but I'm guessing the profit is larger if the denominator is 21.
Edited to ask OP to remove the question mark.

The conference isn’t very good so we will win a game. But Ewing has ruined everything good with Georgetown basketball and I can’t stomach seeing him on the sidelines. Once he’s fired he needs to stay away for good.

I do not think you can burn a program to the ground like this under your watch and come back later and act like it was a good Whomever takes this program over is going to have a lot of work on their hands.

Once he’s fired he needs to stay away for good. Agree. By his choosing the money over the program, he’s beyond the point where his Hoya legacy could be salvaged. Ewing no longer the Greatest Hoya.

Once he’s fired he needs to stay away for good. Seton Hall is one of the worst teams in the conference. Georgetown was largely non competitive with them at home despite them having a terrible shooting night. It’s not a given at all that Georgetown gets a win. They’ll (wow, didn’t even think about typing “we’ll”) undoubtedly lose their next two, and then if they lose to DePaul I think it’s 0-20 and a first round MSG exit. I also feel like there is less encouraging tweets and reporting about Ewing being dismissed. It really sounded like after the Nova loss he was done, but he’s still here stinking up the joint and throwing players under the bus. If he survives until this game at Nova on Monday, he’ll be here at the end of the year. I honestly can’t even imagine a situation where he isn’t fired at the end of the year if so, but it’s pretty hard to imagine any of this ever would have happened.

He will get fired. That’s a guarantee. I think he’ll actually resign to save face, admitting failure. But it won’t happen during the season.

What does Kenpom project now? 1-19? What percentage to go 0-20? Must be up to like 12 or15%, which is absurd to think about.
