Not that I’ve been able to find, though records hard to track down. Record for consecutive high major in-conference losses that I’ve been able to locate manually seems to be Northwestern across three seasons encompassing one 0-18 winless in the middle in 90-92. Our chance for a 30th could be hosting DePaul on January 24… Rutgers beats the Northwestern streak in 14-15 and 15-16 and loses 32 Big Ten games in a row; though they win two early in 14-15 and their last regular season game in 15-16 to avoid any 0fers. We have DePaul at home before we get to 32 but it’s definitely possible. Thanks!

So UConn at home on Feb 4 becomes the “could be all time record” game — with at Xavier, hosting DePaul, at St. John’s, hosting Creighton games leading to it.

Stopped by Thomas Sweet today Asked for a “Patrick Ewing” - gave me a cone … no ice cream … all while telling you it was the best ice cream in the country 40 years ago. You’d have to have been there though - and just trust us that it’ll come back.

these teams are all just amateur losers. Try doing it two seasons in a row. Then I'll be impressed. Only then can you pull a Ewing.

That Elon/North Dakota co-op team must have a hell of a time getting together to practice.

Has any major conference team pulled a double Ewing in the past 40 years? My friend actually looked into this. He only went back to about 2000, but since then the only team to do it is Chicago State, which did it twice. They went winless in 2019 and 2020, but then cancelled their season before conference play in 2021. Chicago State actually did it another time, from 2002-2003 in the Mid-Continent Conference. Chicago State is actually independent now, after leaving WAC.

I honestly put our chances of going 0-20 at greater than 50%. We face #8 Xavier on the road, and they'll be angry because they just lost. That has 30+ loss written all over it. Then we come home to face the team that beat #8 Xavier.
After that, where's our win coming from? St. John's? At Butler even though they blew us out on our home court?
And of course I'm preaching to the choir here, but the writing's on the wall, we need to fire Ewing midseason, let Nickelberry interm HC rest of season, and then start a real coaching search. Start fresh like we did in 1972. I don't know how much more of a lame duck he can be, we need to cut our losses and move the hell on.

"An attempt to pinpoint when Georgetown men's basketball will win its first Big East game... With an 0-8 record in the Big East during this 2022-23 season, Georgetown has 12 games to avoid going winless again during conference play. The question is: will it? And if so, when? Let’s see if the Hoyas can land their first victory by the end of January... Georgetown at St. John's (1/29) Verdict: Unsure While this is also a winnable game, St. John’s is a solid team. In fact, so solid that the Red Storm is fresh off of a big win at No. 6 UConn, and if they can build off of that momentum, they’ll be too much at home for Georgetown." ftw.usatoday.com/lists/georgetown-mens-basketball-first-big-east-win-when

I’ve honestly forgotten but in the Ewing era are we even above .500 against DePaul overall in BE and BET games?

I’ve honestly forgotten but in the Ewing era are we even above .500 against DePaul overall in BE and BET games? No - from prhoya's latest update in the Villanova game thread: "Patrick Ewing’s BE coaching record vs. BE schools: Creighton: 3-8 Butler: 4-7 DePaul: 4-6 Marquette: 2-9 Providence: 3-6 Seton Hall: 4-10 SJU: 6-6 UConn: 0-5 Villanova: 2-11 Xavier: 2-7"

Well, I guess it is now DePaul that stands in the way of us being halfway back to 0-20.
