Start slow, people here lose their minds, win a few in a row, people start saying we’ve turned it around, drop a couple and people are ready to jump ship, finish strong at 12-8 and people here split into two camps: “never doubted these guys” and “we should shutter the whole program if this is what we’re getting.”
So, 12-8

We sweep DePaul and Marquette, get swept by Nova and UCONN, and split with everyone else. 11-9. And Creighton to the sweep list and we beat UCONN in CapOne Arena.....that's 13-7...…….

8-12 or 9-11.
If we get to 9-11, I think we’d avoid playing Weds night at MSG, which to me should be the goal/ceiling for this team.

I like our guards and our potential. Frontcourt is one gigantic question mark. Almost every team in the league returns 5th year covid seniors. 8-12

I think we can/will win one of the 4 games against Nova and UConn, but I also realize that every year we lose one we shoulda woulda coulda won. So that balances out. 11-9.

I struggle to understand some of these predictions. I definitely hope we have a great season and reach the heights some are predicting, but I’m not sure the logic is there. Almost every team in the conference, and most teams across college basketball, have improved from last year because of the covid seniors and the transfer rule. We have lost our three best players from a .500 team that finished 8th in the league and essentially have one experienced player on the roster m.

I know we’re putting a lot of faith into a freshman, but we could have the best player on the floor (Aminu) against a lot of these teams. That’s gotta be worth something.

10-10 just so we can hear arguments about how PE is barely a .500 coach. We'll likely drop a couple we should have won and win some we should probably lose. Lots of ups and downs but I think we're going to have the team with the highest work rate and they'll make us proud overall. Plus, once King is eligible in the 2nd semester (aka BE play), that will give us a wrinkle that teams haven't seen before on top of having all OOC to learn how to play without him.

Ewing is nowhere close to being a .500 coach in the conference. His 4-year Big East record is 26-44 (.371). The Hoyas would have to go 19-1 in the conference this season for him to reach .500.

7-13 if Mo and Riley really are as good as advertised. Our frontcourt is an abomination now without King. He was literally the ONE guy we could not afford to lose...much more than say Dante. We have other guys (like Beard) who are solid PG options. We don't have another marginally game-ready 4 or 5. Like Ig's upside, but he led the Big East in foul rate last season. And Ryan isn't remotely ready. For the record, I had the Hoyas 14-6 with King. He would have been our leading scorer and rebounder.

He would have been statistically our best player. And was only reliable big on paper. We now have no bigs…none.

Just have at it big guy, if it makes you feel better as a "fan." They don't care and will prove you wrong on the court.
