Again, this is college basketball: Two small guards playing heavy minutes have won championships. Yaboy, we’ve been through the names before. Besides, who knows how Pat would play them (together or not, etc…). But, you don’t pass on someone who is elite from 3 if he wants to commit now. Yeah, definitely have, but that not the norm imo. Basically the concerns I've laid out is why he hasn't picked up a ton of offers this summer despite being one of the better shooters in his class. We all have different opinions and folks can definitely disagree but I try and give accurate info on the recruits I watch. I like his game personally just not sure I would take him over other kids if it's going to be a small 2 recruit class. Staff continues to track him hard so if they lose him it won't be for lack of effort. Yaboy, I do worry about our team being too small if we get too many small guards but, this guy Anglim I would definitely immediately relax my concern if we were to get him. From what I have read in articles and seen on YouTube from his high school games, he could be our Myles Powell. Is it accurate? I don't know but a guy can dream, can he?

Odds are he wouldn't turn into that, but he can play. One thing about Powell, he was one of the top scorers in EYBL (22ppg) as a rising Senior. but teams stayed away because he was about 50 pounds overweight. He lost the weight and the rest is history.

I would take him now regardless of what’s left or what’s going to be available thru the transfer portal. I feel you but would you take him over Cam Whitmore, Rowan Brumbaugh, Rodney Rice, Christian Watson, or Justyn Fernandez is the question. When you have limited scholarships you have to make tough choices. That doesn't mean you don't like a player or think what he brings isn't valuable. I think the staff wants a big point guard who can play next to and instead of Dante. That's the reason why you see them going hard after Rice and Brumbaugh. They also clearly want a wing player thus the interest in the other kids. I think you take the first to commit.

Within reason, I think you take the best players you can get, whatever his position or height. In the era we are now in, you don't know who will be on your roster a year from now. Have to assume we will be hit by transfers and must be prepared to finalize our roster via transfers after we know who we are starting with.

The odds that we land none of the ‘22 kids mentioned thus far are high.

The odds that we land none of the ‘22 kids mentioned thus far are high. Why is it high? We may land even a couple.

Otherwise, you could very possibly end up with none of them There’s ways to do these things without losing a recruit and being able to push for the kids at the top of your list. You see it every year in recruiting. You recruit all these kids like priorities but being able to do what I laid out above is something every successful program does. It’s why Christian Watson was a Xavier lean even when they were pushing for Tyrell Ward. Or Ramell Lloyd with Oregon even though they were pushing for Dior Johnson. It’s how the game is played.

Ok, but in recent years it has seemed like we ended up with Plan C and D. Ewing has another year of building relationships with this class, but it is unclear to me if the worm has finally turned.

Actually struggling to figure out who your referring to? Last year it seems like we landed the guys we wanted. If you're referring to the year before think it's more the fact that we had a bunch of people leave mid season and had to fill gaps. The year before that was the McClung, Akinjo, Leblanc class. Either way it appears they are recruiting Angling hard and treating him like a priority. If he picks another school it won't be because he didn't feel the love imo.

Future cast on rivals for us… From Jamie Shaw. Who's hitting at about a 90% clip.

If it’s between Georgetown and UConn and he’s only took an unofficial to the Huskies I’d say we should be cautiously optimistic
2nd Rivals prediction from Rob Cassidy for Georgetown.
