Supposedly Uconn staff is very confident that they're in a good position for Anglin. No idea if that's wishful thinking or not. Wouldn't be surprised if it's a 2 horse race between us and Uconn.

We've been on him a very long time, and he's a high academic kid (other schools like Stanford, ND, etc.)...I would be extremely disappointed if we lost him to UConn)...most of the articles I've read have us at or near the top for him and always mention how long we've had him as a priority...fingers crossed...

Oh, I thought you were the one that said you were not totally sold on Anglin yet. I must got you mixed up with someone else if you didn't say that. Someone, in a past comment, said that they were not sold on Anglin yet. They said, and I am paraphrasing, although he was a good three point shooter, they hadn't seen enough of his total game yet and would rather take Rowan or someone else instead. If that wasn't you, my bad.

I did not say I don't like his game. He's going to be a very good college guard.

I think YaBoyNyP said initially that he recognized Anglin as a very good shooter but hadn't seen enough of the rest of his game at that point...he then followed that up saying that having seen more of him after a couple of games he was satisfied/impressed that Anglin appeared to be a complete player and not just a catch and shoot guy...I have said all along that we are going to need shooting with the likely departure of Carey and Rice and I think Anglin could really help fill the void especially given that some of our other guys are more slashers than big time shooters at this point...

I feel you but would you take him over Cam Whitmore, Rowan Brumbaugh, Rodney Rice, Christian Watson, or Justyn Fernandez is the question. When you have limited scholarships you have to make tough choices. That doesn't mean you don't like a player or think what he brings isn't valuable. I think the staff wants a big point guard who can play next to and instead of Dante. That's the reason why you see them going hard after Rice and Brumbaugh. They also clearly want a wing player thus the interest in the other kids.

The kid has a special skill and is tough, plus he has shown it vs all competition. Yes, I would if he wants it now. As usual, the scholarships will take care of themselves.

I feel you but tough to win in a HM conference with 2 small guards playing heavy minutes on the floor together. I think you have to consider the overall structure of your team.

With the big guards that you are talking about who will be the shooters to allow Aminu and Jordan to attack the basket???

Not as good as Anglin but shooting is one of his strong points and he's 6'4.

Of course I am not in the field like yourself and so I am not as knowledgeable as you are about theae high school players. All I can do is go by what I see on YouTube and I don't know if that is a good barometer. Some guys you can just tell that they will be good collegiate players just by watching their high school tapes (Mac, Akinjo) but some guys you might not be so sure of. I feel like Anglin amd Whitmore are going to shine at the next level. Rice? It goes without saying that the kid can shoot. I have to admit with Brumbaugh, I haven't seen enough of his outside shooting though I do like his smooth overall style of play.

Again, this is college basketball: Two small guards playing heavy minutes have won championships. Yaboy, we’ve been through the names. Besides, who knows how Pat would play them (together or not, etc…). But, you don’t pass on someone who is elite from 3 if he wants to commit now.

Basically the concerns I've laid out is why he hasn't picked up a ton of offers this summer despite being one of the better shooters in his class. We all have different opinions and folks can definitely disagree but I try and give accurate info on the recruits I watch. I like his game personally just not sure I would take him over other kids if it's going to be a small 2 recruit class. Staff continues to track him hard so if they lose him it won't be for lack of effort.
