Is it possible that Big East teams are starting to dread playing the Hoyas?? Only if Georgetown plays all its games at home. Remember, three of the four de facto cancelled games were road games and GU is 1-5 on the road. As to the foul question--Georgetown won this game on the court but Seton Hall got no favors from the officials. Pirates called for as many fouls in the second half (13) as Georgetown got all game.

Gee I could have sworn we beat Creighton on the road during our recent stretch of improved play. Sometimes DFW I think you bend over backwards to try to find a negative.

I dont care about the # of fouls. Please list out the bad calls and I will go back and watch the tape. And please dont use Pete Gillen's reaction as your basis for determining what was a missed or bad call.

Sometimes DFW I think you bend over backwards to try to find a negative. Stating the obvious is not a negative--Georgetown had one foul called against it in the final five minutes and that's improved team play. But when there are already 23 posts on Seton Hall's board talking about the officiating, it's not like it's not a point of discussion. But fouls didn't do in SH, three point defense did.

I was more referencing your glaring omission of our road win at Creighton than the fouls. As for the Seton Hall board - probably accurate to say that every team that loses a close game has its fans blame it in the refs, including of course us. Human nature I guess. We did get a couple of favorable calls, but if we lost we would have cheery picked a few calls to blame the refs as well!

What's all this looking backward at the subject of another now concluded game doing in the UCon game thread?

I feel like I’m in that scary place now with Georgetown basketball in recent years — I feel hope. The games that remain on our slate are winnable games. That doesn’t mean we will win all of them, or even any of them. I can’t really count these guys out the way they are playing right now. They really have to approach it one game at a time, but I really didn’t expect them to beat Seton Hall. Seton Hall seemed like the better team, but we ultimately made the plays to win. Maybe we can do it again.
Let’s welcome UConn back to the Big East with a Hoyas win.

Bouknight is extremely talented. His skill level is very high, and his game is smart and smooth. He is very skinny, and he tired as the game progressed today. I think we need to try to make him work hard on defense, and to be as physical with him as we can get away with. I love his game. I think he is a far, far better pro prospect than guys like Myles Powell or Marcus Howard. Bouknight has more complete game than either of those guys. Playing him twice down the stretch will be a real test. Uconn is nothing special outside of Bouknight - solid team, but no better than any other middle of the pack BE team without Bouknight. But with their star back - they are going to be tough to beat unless we can take advantage of the fact that he is still getting into game shape after his long layoff for the elbow surgery.

Uconn is beatable but Bouknight can singlehandedly carry them to a win. Let’s hope the short turnaround is tough for him as he looked gassed at the end of today’s game vs Nova. Their offense outside of him is quite limited.

Who guards Bouknight? He 6’5” so maybe too big for Harris full-time. Is Blair up to this defensive challenge? Or will he try to outscore him?

This game is very important--not just for this season but for the continued development of Ewing and the program. The next step for both is consistency. Commitment to solid defense and continued ball movement on offense and renewed focus on eliminating the unnecessary and careless TOs should be the goal. If the shots don't fall, they could lose to a desperate UConn with its star player. Could actually live with that outcome as those types of games happen. However, a return to selfish play, another 15+ TO game or lack of focus or effort would be a major disappointment after so many promising signs of growth. Cannot stand a loss to Hurley--just as bad as losing to Wojo.

Plus the swing 3, Tyrese Martin is 6'6" and a capable scorer. I think Dante on Cole, which I hope keeps him from going off for big points. Alternate Blair and Carey and Bile on Bouknight plus Martin plus Gaffney. Gaffney had that one 20 point game against S. Hall and we have a history of letting fourth options come up big. Hope not this time.

Like most games, Wahab will have a physical advantage over anyone UConn has covering him. Q is pretty efficient when he gets the ball in deep but with the recent improvements in 3 pt shooting, would like to see him kick it out to guys on the perimeter more often on Tuesday. Feels like opponents know he isn't going to pass when he gets it in the post and opponents are collapsing with no regard for their own man. Passing out of the post a few times could keep defenses more honest and open things up for his teammates and himself.
