This should help to recruit guards.

Like most games, Wahab will have a physical advantage over anyone UConn has covering him. Q is pretty efficient when he gets the ball in deep but with the recent improvements in 3 pt shooting, would like to see him kick it out to guys on the perimeter more often on Tuesday. Feels like opponents know he isn't going to pass when he gets it in the post and opponents are collapsing with no regard for their own man. Passing out of the post a few times could keep defenses more honest and open things up for his teammates and himself. He hasn't played much during the BE season but I would expect to see a decent amount of Josh Carlton in this game to help battle Wahab on the blocks... As a longtime Hoyas fan & lifelong CT resident, it's hard for me to express how much I want Gtown to win this game...

You want to know something crazy? Georgetown leads the conference in 3FG in conference games at 38.2%!...just ahead of Villanova. Carey 47.7 21 of 44 Jamorko 41.7 Chudier 36.6 Dante 35.3 Blair 33.3 Amazing....I always consider Blair to be our best three point shooter....interesting that he has the lowest percentage. I guess you don’t get credit for degree of difficulty. Sucks to think that we lose all of them but for Dante. Need a couple of knock down shooters next year.

Would have to think Blair starts on Bouknight and Bile will probably be asked to help. The size mismatch might force our hand if he gets hot early. Have to keep in mind too that he might tire early if we can wear him out; the fatigue from the long layoff definitely showed in the second half against Nova yesterday.
Speaking of fatigue; the tighter rotation really forced heavy minutes on our guys yesterday. They've not shown a great ability to bounce back on shorter rest this year. It will be on Ewing to figure out how to use his subs and timeouts strategically to buy rest for guys who will likely be called on for big minutes again here.
UConn really competes on the offensive glass (7th nationally), so limiting second chances and second chance points will be key. We didn't do a great job of it against SHU and this will be an even bigger test.

Would love to knock the Huskies out as their resume really doesn’t warrant the consideration they are getting. They have 6 of their 7 BE wins against DePaul (x2), Butler (x2), Marquette and PC. They are 0-5 against the BE Top 5. They are hanging their hat on one win vs USC that counts as neutral but was played in their backyard at Mohegan Sun.

My take on this game is...we just have to stop Bouknight by applying pressure, get the ball out of RJ Coles' hands, attack Whaley and be strong on the boards. My suggestion put Bile and Pickett on Bouknight for parts of the game. Maybe even start off with throwing Bile on him immediately. Give Blair some time to get going and also, don't wear Blair out trying to check Bouknight.
Maybe after Bouknight is tired of being harassed by the first half of the first half, then throw Blair on him. Get all of the Big Five going early and when you bring Carey in get the microwave heated quickly. Run a few plays right away for Carey so he gets cooking.
Start the game off with feeding Q. Q PUMP FAKE before you shoot. Whaley is the number one shot blocker in the Big East! That goes for anyone else that goes in the lane, PUMP FAKE. When you get Whaley out of position, go up strong! While Q or Tim is down low and going for their shots, Pickett and Bile must flood the key looking to get rebounds and putbacks!
As soon as you guys see Q going up, flood the lane looking for the rebounds and putbacks. Secondly, get the ball out of RJ Cole's hands just like you did with Shavar. For parts of the game, apply the full court press and full court trap defense with Dante and Javon/Carey. Make someone else on UConn's team have to be a decision maker.
When you apply the full court press, don't let them break it so easily. Maybe bring Pickett up to half court to be a spy so that when you have two guys trapping RJ, Pickett can see the UConn player sneaking behind the back line of the defense and maybe Pickett can react right away.
The next thing, Blair needs to attack the basket on offense! We need Blair looking for his jump shot floaters. Screen to get Blair open whenever possible. Make that Bouknight guy work on defense. This will help wear him down and tire him out.
Pickett, Bile and Dante keep doing what you guys are doing. Pickett look to explore the lanes and same for Bile. Don't worry if you loose the ball here and there. Just keep exploring! You guys penetrating along with Dante is going to break down the UConn defense and put so much pressure on Whaley, the number one shot blocker.
In between all of that, whenever you're open for the three, knock it down! Overall, we got to put pressure on Bouknight, Whaley and RJ Cole and we should have this game.

So really it’s just SHU and SJ games?

Bouknight has outrageous range and as someone said he's 6-5. I only watched a little of Saturday's UConn game but he stood out as skilled, confident and patient. This is one of those old fashioned games where some Hoyas will have to commit to shutting him down.

So clog the lane and let him shoot from downtown. Looks like a Rip Hamilton clone with bigger hands and more vertical.

Blair has always been a volume scorer, like McClung, rather than high percentage shooter. Think a lot of that comes from his forcing shots and insistence on shooting from 5 feet behind the line. Let him square up and he is deadly. Would really like to see more shots for Carey who has always looked the part of marksman from deep. Not realistic to think that Hoyas will shoot as well from deep in all games but need at least two players who are deep threats. Hope that Wahab is making quick decisions and kicking the ball out when doubled.

The Bile change to the starting lineup was clearly a jump starter. I wonder how we get Carey some more minutes. He made so many winning plays in that last game.

Another opportunity for Ewing to get his first 3 game winning streak in the Big East
