Gotta love when the multi page thread listing all of the times the staff went to see him gets to the "we didn't want him anyway" stage. And if you were following things closely you’d notice since Nickeberry came in, GU hasn’t been to see Lamothe play, and has seen Allen play at least twice. These things change. Interest 6 months ago doesn’t guarantee interest today, on both the recruit’s side and the team’s side.

Nickelberry came in in March and Lamothe took an official to Georgetown in late April but sure, as I said, we're in the "we didn't want him anyway" stage of the thread which would change on a dime if he decommitted or hits the portal.

Interesting that you omit who was also visiting Georgetown at that exact same time.

Right and I’m sure Lamothe’s slide down the rankings into near three-star territory is Ewing’s fault too. Maybe all those recruiting websites are mindless Ewing fanboys too that dropped his stock once it was clear he wasn’t coming to Georgetown. Clearly we’re all hypocrites.

Maybe I'd believe that if he hadn't committed to the program that takes our best player every year and eats our lunch in the DMV. No one is going to sign on to one of the minor league DMV programs like Georgetown or Mason if they can sign with UMD.

Talk to me once we are in a legitimate recruiting battle for a real player, at which point we’ll both lose out to a blue blood. They can have their fun beating us out for fringe top 100 guys but losing to De-freakin-Paul for legitimately talented players at positions they need.

It's been five years and area recruits look at Georgetown like it's the haunted mansion no one wants to stay a night at.

I see you’re also leaving out Georgetown beating out UMD for Brandon Murray this offseason. Also interesting. I’m sensing a bit of agenda here.

We didn’t win any recruiting battle.

And, while we had an historically brutal year, it's not as though UMD have been anything close to special. They're not eating anyone's lunch.

If I'm being honest, I was going to have a hard time supporting a kid whose name is spelled Jahnathan. It just doesn't make sense. I realize it isn't his fault but how could a parent go with that spelling. Onto the next one. I support not really recruiting incoming freshman any more unless they are of the 5 star play now mold. This staff doesn't have time to develop a kid like this anyways unless this is a good year on the court. A good call for him and for us.

They’re referring to the Gavitt Games.
