Class of 2023 standout Jahnthan Lamothe is a 6-foot-4, do-everything guard that blew up a bit during the summer’s live period, collecting offers from schools such as Maryland, DePaul, Illinois and LSU. We haven’t gotten eyes on him since July, however, so he provides intrigue. His St. Frances Academy team will take on a loaded Donda Academy squad in Saturday’s night cap, and there’s no better stage for Lamothe to back up his No. 44 ranking. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/florida-man-kentucky-s-shaedon-sharpe-quandary

Was in attendance at tonight’s game - not sure if that’s a good thing.

New Hoya Assistant Coach Kevin Nickelberry listed as Lamothe's lead recruiter from LSU. Nickelberry offered Lamothe in September and hosted him for an official visit in October.

I'd expect a commtiment during or immediately after the visit. Will be interesting to see if his ranking remains high as other high schoolers catch up to him size-wise and he's less able to play bully ball.

Nickleberry/Brooks "relationship" with Lamothe, particularly recognizing that putting near-term recruiting victories on the board helps justify Ewing's ongoing presence. The kid can decommit if/when the Georgetown administration comes to its senses following the 2022-2023 season and ditches Ewing like a bad habit. It's a no-lose proposition for Lamothe to commit now and it's a huge win for Ewing/Nickleberry/Brooks to put a 2023 top 50 ranked kid in the early commit column.

Your commitment to this bit is inspiring, lol. I generally feel we align on disapproving of Ewing’s coaching performance thus far, but your ability to try and put a negative spin on literally every piece of positive Hoyas news is incredible. Why continue being a fan if it makes you this miserable?

So now the working assumption is that we are greasing the wheels with recruits, based on no facts at all. That makes sense.

Not to mention the concept that Georgetown has a mysterious slush fund to "influence" recruits and transfers that dwarfs the significant deals they can get at schools with lucrative NIL programs in place. I am still waiting for TC or boya to actually address how likely that is.
