Once again take notice of whose not posting on here tonight after back to back BIG ROAD WINS! These missing posters took a lot of these threads hostage (like I'm doing this one) last Saturday after the loss to UNC-G & Monday when the transfer news/scandal broke. They were all over the place basically screaming that Coach Ewing was a disaster as a coach and needed to be fired immediately. Now these so called Hoya fans are somewhere Editeded off that the team is not only winning but in dominating fashion. They can't dare post on here playing the fire Coach Ewing drums tonight. I'm sure they are biting their time waiting for the next lost to come back and spew their hate. Hopefully it will be a while before we here from them again...ha ha ha ha!

1). When was the last time we had twice as many assists as turnovers in a game? I'm sure it had to have happened during JT III's tenure, but that is a nice stat considering how turnover prone we have been the past 3 years.
2). Have we ever had a player have double figures in assists with 0 turnovers in a game?

Just got home after an evening out. How the heck did the Hoyas miss that FT?! Well that wraps up our tour of the Southwest both in the SW and in the Garden. Kudos for DFW and other Texas Hoyas for cementing the win. And if Blair is on, we are hot.

Are people still cringing whenever Blair gets into the game? Maaaybe defer a bit to the coaches who see him every day in practice now? The problem was never Blair per se, it was the fact Ewing was trying to play 11 guys. I think most posters on the board saw that that would never work, and it didn't. All 11 were capable of being solid contributors, but guys need minutes, and not just minutes but touches to get into a rhythm, get their confidence going, etc. When Ewing was playing 11 guys it was hard for anyone outside of Yurt and JA to do much as those were the only two guys that didn't have to worry about their minutes and touches. The irony is that Ewing apparently recognized this himself as he's made numerous statements about how guys are playing better cus their more freer and relaxed since they don't have to always look over their shoulder so much like when he was playing 11. So it's curious he wouldn't have shortened the rotation much sooner. Regardless, Josh and JA made the decision for him, and the team is now much better off as a result. The guards in particular have made the biggest jump. Allen was worthless while JA was here, now he's everything I wish JA could've been. Mac looks like a completely different player. Shooting better, making better decisions, etc. Mosely is more involved in the offense and finally providing some scoring. And Blair is finally able to get enough minutes and touches coming off the bench that he can be a legit factor with his 3 point shooting. I'm hoping Myron can try to mold his game a little more off Josh from last year. The three he took was beyond bad, as was whatever that dribble move was he tried at the top of the key. It's clear shooting and ball handling are not his strong points. That said, I think his rebounding along with Galen's are the best on the team outside of Yurt, I also think he's a very good defender. If he could take on that Josh role of just focusing on rebounding, playing defense, and getting easy baskets near the rim, he could become a really valuable player.

I hear one of em is on the run from his bookie. After losing our so called 2 best players, he bet the farm against us every which way he could in the last 2 games and lost miserably both times.

In all fairness he was shooting 20% from 3 (as our supposed “sharpshooter”) and is by far our least competent ball handler in the backcourt. However, if we continue to move the ball this way then he (and we) will certainly benefit as he is a catch and shoot guy.

So apparently the only player who could stop Mac was Akinjo? Certainly appears to the case. The whole team is so much better now with Terrell running the offense. 55.7% from the field! 51.9% from 3! 90% from the line! AMAZING

Yeah that was low-class. Not the Georgetown way. I agree but it looks like he also gave him a pat. Wonder if they know each other. Not saying he should have done it, just seemed odd. I agree, it seemed strange but not thugish! Maybe the knew each other. It was a soft touch, and as I recall, the player didn't seem offended.

Could not have said it any better. Some people make it difficult to come to this page during and after some games, you are not one of them. The other type call themselves realists. I guess we need them, like flies at a picnic. It hasn’t been revealed to me yet why.... Thanks again

Well that is kind of the nature of fan forums, they all have their doom-and-gloomers and their rose-colored glasses wearers.
But it is certainly nice to have some Kumbaya time on the board!

Looks like redshirt years for them..which is great in terms of development. Only complaint, would have liked to see the walk-ons get some run. Cone on Coach Ewing...get it together! I agree with the walk-ons, particularly Robinson.

Uh, you do realize is has been really early preseason and not only Ewing, but pretty much every coach puts pretty much every player they would need in early games, particularly if the games aren't that tough. They work to get different line-ups run time and get new players worked into the system, as mid-season or late Spring is far too late to do that.

Yeah that was low-class. Not the Georgetown way. You don't know if he Galen has a relationship off the court with that player. They could be tight friends. It didn't seem like the player was to worried about it... I agree. They seemed friendly after, I didn’t take it as a negative. Seemed like they knew eachother

In all honesty as I watched the game last night I kept expecting the inevitable scoring drought which would turn this into another of the nail biters we have seen too often in recent seasons. Yet, every time someone would go "cold" another player seemed to step up. Maybe that makes me a doom and gloomer or maybe it is just the PTSD of what has been an all too frequent recurring pattern over the past several seasons. In any event I attribute the change to the make-up of this "new" Hoya team. Now it gets tested at home against a truly hated opponent in the first "big" game these kids will have played as a group on a somewhat home court.

Good to see us playing two good halves of basketball. Between basketball and soccer, a really great day for GU sports. Important to cherish good days.

Gotta love the road if you're a Hoya and more generally DC sports fan the last week (and couple months). Hoyas not only win two HUGE road games in convincing fashion this week, but precede it by taking the first of the Texas two-steps in NYC against the Longhorns. And this same week the Caps go 4-0 on the road, including 3-0 West Coast swing (first time ever for them) AND beat HoyaChris's rebuilding but still storied RedWings in Detroit. And of course Nats become first team ever to win FOUR World Series road games to take the title (and overall win three road elimination play-off games). In light of this, maybe there will be a silver lining if we end up with the usual influx from Upstate NY next Saturday, making the game seem more of a road game than we'd prefer (not that I'm hoping for that, but glass half full anyone?)
