One at a time...play to your capabilities, not the other team's...40 mns at your standards...Go Hoyas! Now that Sibley has committed, we can focus our attention to UNCG. We haven't always played to our strengths in the past. Their front line out isn't as big or talented as ours, exploit it. Totally inside then out first. Get them in foul trouble when they don't send a second defender. When they double Yurt7, cut to the hole so he can find us or set up for the open 3. Can Blair be our Vinnie Johnson? On defense, can our guards be more aggressive and not leave their man for open 3s? I know we shouldn't have to rely on blocked shots as our primary means of defense, but the 12 we had against Duke was pretty amazing. It has to help our guards knowing they have that kind of support behind them. 12 clean blocks with that whistle happy crew is no small feat. In 2000 we had 17 blocks in a game, in 2001 we had 14 blocks in a game, for the 3rd and 10th most in the history of the program. Hopefully the team sees how good they can be and lives up to it. I am sorry we weren't the ones to give Duke their first 2019 - 2020 "L".

These next several games are a true reflection of the progress, or lack thereof, of this team and its coaches. If the tournament is a real possibility then winning at least 3 of 4 is important. I am trying to focus on just one game at a time. I hope the team is too.

I am trying to focus on just one game at a time. I hope the team is too. I totally agree. My only point (which I obviously did not make) was that what happened in New York, the Sibley signing and all the good vibes and apparent progress that came with the past week are meaningless if it is not reflected in the play starting today. Suddenly, the Big East does not look as formidable as we thought and a tournament resume needs to be built now (see Depaul). Duke clearly is not as good as we expected. Who knows what Texas is just yet. Starting today with UNC Greensboro and including road games against SMU and Oklahoma State, and at home against Syracuse, this team needs to prove that it has truly advanced beyond the mediocre showings in the first few games.

This is a tricky game against a tough mid major. That being said, a tournament team finds a way to win this game at home.
Today will be telling on who we are and where we may or may not go this year.

GAMEDAY!!!
Texas was a strong defensive team too and we dismantled them. Take care of the ball, hit the boards, and play with some defensive intensity. The rest will take care of itself.
Hopefully the guys skipped out on that 4th portion of Thanksgiving dinner.

I'd like to see the team play through Yurtseven, not just on the blocks but on the elbows or baselines as well...
Less high ball screens, more off-ball screens as well...

Let's hope the team doesn't come out disrespecting the team name. If we are focus we will blow them out but if we think our uniforms will win the game we will be in for a long day...........LET'S GO!!!!

It would also be nice if I were able to watch the start of the game instead of the end of this St. John’s beat down on Wagner...

I intentionally didn’t check the score until FS2 switched, hoping to be surprised with a good start. I’ll take 10-5 with the ball haha.
