I think I remember something about starting a "home and home" with Notre Dame next year, but I could be wrong on that

Big 10, I’d like to play Michigan or Michigan State. Both would be home sell outs.

We should play the Terps every year- not doing it is a missed opportunity for both programs.

Well then they are wrong. A heated local rivalry game prepares teams for the postseason and brings positive media attention to both programs. If you do it every year and make it a tradition, all the better.

Currently, the Terps are clearly a superior program to the Hoyas. If they win, it’s expected. If they lose, they play down to a local team that they consistently beat for recruits. It’s like saying we need to play GW every year. What’s the upside for the Hoyas in that scenario?

I would not want to play them at College Park every other year.

I believe that competition is good! If they win they have bragging rights, as they currently do. And they lure more highly appraised recruits. We don't want to be a second tier anywhere so it pushes us more to keep developing and raising the brand of the basketball program....for years we were diminished! Patrick doesn't carry the same history and baggage as Big John with Maryland so why not compete?

Terps schedule is always weak. I think it keeps them out of a one seed, unless they absolutely dominate the Big 10. You want to play good teams. The Hoyas are a good team and the name sells itself. A q1/q2 non conference game would be a huge step up in Maryland's schedule. Restore a local rivalry and hope it builds something. In today's age of scheduling, any game against a solid team goes somewhere. You made an attempt to play someone and got your SOS up. Maryland comes up short in the tournament almost ever year, and scheduling is a big part of that.

I realize there isn't much known about UNCG, but we do have several threads where "Turtles on the schedule" discussion would fit better. Just saying.

Looking at UNCG’s box scores their defensive prowess scares me. We really have to protect the ball because this team will turn us over. I believe the opening line came out at -7.5 which prob feels right. This has single digits (by either side) with 5 mins to go written all over it.
Hope this week off has helped rather than hurt but I’m very cautious going into this one. Especially when our guys know games against OK State and Cuse are upcoming.

These next several games are a true reflection of the progress, or lack thereof, of this team and its coaches. If the tournament is a real possibility then winning at least 3 of 4 is important.
