From where i sit...this draw sets up perfectly for us to reach the final...beat Hall/Marquette or St johns and go for the tourney win. No Creighton, surging xavier or a talented friars team that could make a run...i like our chances.

They will have a huge fanbase at the game. And they want revenge for the double overtime loss to us.

There are no easy draws.
The benefit to pulling Hall is that it is the highest quality win we can get in a first game. A win against Hall really helps make the case.

I disagree with the sentiment that Seton Hall is the hottest team. A week ago they were losers of three straight after getting beat by Xavier, St John’s and us. I know they had two wins over ranked teams last week, but Marquette absolutely choked and is nowhere near the team they were in January, while I’ll give you yesterday they outplayed Nova start to finish. But both were also at home. I think Creighton or Xavier are playing just as well, if not better, so Seton Hall scares me no more than any team in the Top 7. Powell yes, but as a team not really and they are only a week removed from a total free fall. Imagine if Marquette hadn’t choked, and they were losers of four straight going into yesterday. Wouldn’t the narrative have been different? Would they have played tighter against Nova? I guess we’ll never know.

Meh, entire conference is a stew of mediocrity. Didn't really want to play SJU in a must-win home game in the opener. Other than that, really not a lot of concern over anyone. Powell is really due for a stinker. Marquette is reeling like no team in the league. Definitely the easier side of the bracket in my opinion.

The Hall usually doesn't travel very well even for BET.

Played to the tune of (Three Lions:
"I think it's bad news for Georgetown again" "We're not creative enough and we're not positive enough"
It's coming home, It's coming home, It's coming, Ewing's coming home
"We'll go on getting bad results, getting bad results, getting bad results"
It's coming home, It's coming home, It's coming, Ewing's coming home
It's coming home, It's coming home, It's coming, Ewing's coming home
It's coming home, It's coming home, It's coming, Ewing's coming home
Everyone - seems to know the score, They've seen it all before, They just know, They're so sure,
That Georgetown's Gonna throw it away, Gonna blow it away, But I know they can play, 'Cause I remember
Jack the Bulldog on a shirt, Pop's glasses still gleaming, Thirty five years of hurt, Never stopped me dreaming.
So many jokes, so many sneers, But all those oh-so-nears, Wear you down, Through the years,
But I still see that facial by Zo, And when Reggie Williams scored, Iverson dunking the ball, And Mutombo waving
Jack the Bulldog on a shirt, Pop's glasses still gleaming, Thirty five years of hurt, Never stopped me dreaming.
"Hoyas have done it, Georgetown What a block, Patrick Ewing! Good old Hoyas, Hoyas that couldn't play basketball! Georgetown That's the ball game will be the National Champions!" I know that was then, but it could be again
It's coming home, It's coming home, It's coming, Ewing's coming home
Hoyas have done it
It's coming home, It's coming home, It's coming, Ewing's coming home

For the Hoyas I think it’s better we avoided Xavier/Creighton/Nova until the final. Yet for Nova I think those teams are the best matchups for them and their path to Saturday is as good as it could have been given I think Seton Hall, SJ, and us would have given them more trouble in a semifinal on Friday then who they’ll face.

The Hall usually doesn't travel very well even for BET. Standard probation restrictions. No out of state travel.

The Hall usually doesn't travel very well even for BET. That’s because, even when they’re good, Seton Hall is a total afterthought in the sports landscape here. They just don’t much of a fan base. Creighton will have more fans at the garden than Seton Hall.

Creighton will have more fans at the garden than Seton Hall. Ironically, the fact their fans can easily attend any game at MSG on a moment's notice is not a positive. Many alumni (like my dad), stay on the sideline until they are in the semis to attend. If you are from Creighton you are committing to the whole tournament, or you are not coming. Not many are hopping on a flight out of Omaha only if CU advances to the semis or finals. Same goes for most of the Midwest contingent. I do not mind the match-up, it does give us a chance for a quality win, but that is secondary to me. I think it sets up a really competitive game that should be fun to watch. Of course, this side of the bracket is wonderful since it includes MU and not CU or Nova.

The Hall usually doesn't travel very well even for BET. If I recall Seton Hall won the BET two years ago, beating the eventual national champs Villanova. I believe they also had a similar late season run that year and their guard Whitehead led the charge. I can see them doing the same this year with Powell going crazy. These tourneys are usually won by the team in the league that is hottest going in. Right now that is Seton Hall.

Folks come if their team has a good chance to advance. If they get upset, then they sell the rest of their tickets. I have purchased cheap tickets in the past this way.

For this reason I’m waiting to buy for Thursday. If St. John’s loses their fans will dump their tickets and drive prices down.
