Juwan Howard is no dummy, that is for sure. Brilliant to play a game like this with all the recruiting he does in the DC area. I expect Coach Howard to invite every 4* and higher HS player from Baltimore to Richmond to this game. His speech will include - come and play for us and we will come back to the DMV so that all of your friends and family can see you play - live. McDONALD: I’ll go with Michigan to cut down the nets in April. The Wolverines have a really nice combination of experience and talent to go along with a great coaching staff. Michigan’s front court is loaded with Hunter Dickinson back and the addition of five-star freshman Moussa Diabate. I’d expect Terrance Williams to make a big jump this year and be the nice glue piece at the forward spots. Another five-star freshman, Caleb Houstan, will help in a big way with carrying the scoring load, while super senior Eli Brooks and transfer guard DeVante Jones will hold down the backcourt. I love the makeup of this roster and think the Wolverines have the goods to win the whole thing. SHAW: Michigan. There are a lot of teams in consideration here. However, for me, I think Michigan has the most talent on its roster. Dickinson is a bonafide college star, as is Devonte Jones. The freshman class has three players who should eventually be first-rounders (Houstan, Diabate, and Kobe Bufkin). Brooks will bring a steadying hand to the backcourt, where Frankie Collins will push everyone to be better. Newcomers should push the returners, and if Michigan can find consistent shooting, there are not many holes in Ann Arbor. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/rivals-roundtable--450

Stupid question from a Luddite who has never used a mobile ticket before: any idea why I am not seeing a barcode on my tickets when I save them to my Apple Wallet?
I'm paid up for the season, my "manage tickets" section in my MyHoyas account is showing all the games with my seats indicated, and I can view and save something that looks like a ticket with what looks like a horizontal barcode with a blue line running across it; but that barcode, which may be a dummy, disappears when I save the ticket.
The "digital ticketing guide" (https://wearegeorgetown.com/tickets/digital-ticketing-guide/) is not helping much because the pages on my phone have a somewhat different format from the samples shown in the guide. Perhaps importantly, there is no "view barcode" thingy to click on like the guide says. I fear that, while I have saved something that looks like a ticket to my Wallet, there is nothing that can be scanned when I try to get in. I must be doing something fundamentally wrong but don't know what. I've gone through the process for Dartmouth, American, and Syracuse, same result each time.
Feel free to DM me if anyone has a clue, and I will be eternally grateful!

Thanks, SS. Since SS has Android and I have Apple, my situation appears to differ a bit from his. Additional advice from others will still be welcomed.

I’m similarly old school, but my tickets are in my Apple wallet as well sans barcode. I think I remember seeing something on the Ticketmaster screen saying there would be no barcode. I’m not particularly worried. The fact that’s it’s been delivered to your wallet is one layer of protection and they may even use a different technology for scanning (blue tooth?) to validate. Hope that helps until someone who knows better can explain.

Hope that helps until someone who knows better can explain. I did some research. Here's the apparent answer that I found: It likely uses a technology built into your phone called NFC. As long as the ticket readers have built in NFC readers, you should be fine. You’ll just have to bring your phone near the NFC “reader”. When you use Apple Pay in stores that accept contactless payments, Apple Pay uses Near Field Communication (NFC) technology between your device and the payment terminal. NFC is an industry-standard, contactless technology that's designed to work only across short distances.Feb 2, 2021 Curiously, Google Pay also uses NFC technology but my tickets do have a barcode. Go figure.

What about phones that do not have NFC compatability? I have no idea unless every Apple phone has NFC and maybe some Android phones do not, Google Pay still has the barcode on the ticket? EDIT: Which iPhones have NFC? All the iPhones released in recent years have NFC. In fact, every iPhone since iPhone 6, which came out in 2014, has a built-in NFC chip. All the latest Android smartphones can scan NFC without an app but there are a few older models that do not support NFC.

Very helpful (and hopeful) responses. Thank you so much.
As a side note, I think there may be some issues with all this from an equity viewpoint. Essentially, GU now denies admission to anyone without a smartphone?

Very helpful (and hopeful) responses. Thank you so much. As a side note, I think there may be some issues with all this from an equity viewpoint. Essentially, GU now denies admission to anyone without a smartphone? I think Cap One Arena is largely digital but have made some accommodation (see last sentence) for those who don't have smartphones. This article is from WTOP News from 2 years ago as Cap One was starting to go to digital ticketing in Jan. 2020: The switch will take effect immediately after Jan. 1, 2020 for all concerts and shows. It will be a more gradual change for Capitals and Wizards season tickets, as those go fully digital starting in the 2020 playoffs. The announced was made this week by Monumental Sports & Entertainment, the ownership company of the Wizards, Capitals and Mystics. “We have had a very strong mobile presence for the past four years,” said Jim Van Stone, Monumental’s president of business operations. “We are focused on making our entire ticketing process as streamlined as possible.” According to Monumental, the digital Ticketmaster system called “Presence” will make the experience more convenient, enhance security and protect against fraud. People will be able to access their tickets by taking out a smart device, such as an iPhone, and using the Ticketmaster app or Ticketmaster.com. “Entry information, in-venue updates, upgrade offers, and any event changes can be communicated directly to the fan,” Ticketmaster said. The digital system puts a “rotating bar code” on the tickets that repeatedly changes, so the tickets will not work if you print them out or take screen shots of them. Monumental said it would make sure that everyone who goes to the arena for games or concerts is made aware of the changes. People who purchase tickets directly from the box office will still receive paper tickets, and Monumental said accommodations will be made for those who do not own a smartphone.

Cool that the women's team will be playing in the WNBA arena. I wish Georgetown would have partnered with the Mystics to have that built closer to campus and be used for our program as well. A brand new 7-10,000 seat arena would have been perfect and a much more fitting home.

Interesting strategy. The University almost certainly just offered/gave a block of free tickets to X community stakeholders.

If you have the Georgetown GameDay App on your phone, you can use it to access your My Hoyas Account and the tickets are there as well. Gtown has been using it for the past couple of years. I was told last month that you couldn't use the App to access your tickets this year but lo and behold, they've popped up.

I added Google Pay for the sole purpose of gaining access to my tickets!

Mine is weird. Only have tickets displayed for about half of the games.

It would be nice if you could forward a ticket on the spot. I had a large group and had 10 tickets on my phone. My wife had a bag that was too big and had to go back to the car and I had to keep a bunch of kids entertained outside the ticket area while we waited. Pretty lame.
