I still can’t believe he is playing in the NBA. So amazing!

The Warriors last year had Cook at many games watching. I'm not sure how it counts for games and extra pay. It sort of falls into a grey area as traveling to the team and with the team would count for paying him, which would be good for him, but adds to the Warriors tax bill to the league. Aside from that I really like how they keep their top G-League players close. Draymond has been looking like he needs more rest and healing so having Markus close at had and familiar to fill in depth is good for all there. But he lives just down the street since he is on the Santa Clara G league team. So I suppose if he wanted to he could go to every home game to observe. Probably a benefit of having the G League team in the same location as opposed to say South Dakota.

Curry, Dray and the rest of the stars are sometimes seen watching the team in Santa Cruz, and the Warriors will take players like MD on road trips even when they aren't on the roster. If nothing else, MD is getting into team meetings and practices more than most D Leaguers.

Not sure what's going from the cryptic tweet. However, I wish him the best in his future endeavors.

Yikes hard to follow all the details and potential motive but that sounds like very serious stuff. Hope Marcus and his loved ones come out of this OK.

On the off-off chance that Marcus reads this thread, just know that you have a lot of fans out here in Hoya Nation and we are all hoping that everything gets straightened out and that all in your family are well.

Someone from Georgetown should get involved also. Ugly, scary stuff! We cannot benefit from these young men talents and then just sit back and watch as they spiral out of control. I am not sure how much can be done to help one of our greats, but we should reach out.

I posted the same sentiment on Facebook, maybe PE can get involved and find out how we can help him through these rough times. Reading what little we know about the situation it appears others are at fault or at a minimum should be brought to the table for questioning. Furthermore, was a police report filed or was this covered up like so many other criminal actives in GA.

Sounds like a sad situation. Seems crazy that NBA and G League resources wouldn't be available here if someone's situation deteriorates to the point that Marcus' appears to have done. This guy was playing for the Warriors a year or 2 ago.
Also, to all you kids looking to the draft, think about staying in school to get your degree unless you command a draft position and/or contract that can change your life in a positive and permanent way. Things can turn on a dime. Big John's deflated basketball has no less meaning today.

What a bizarre story. Hope MD is Ok and can come through this. I always enjoyed watching him play for the Hoyas and have pulled for him to succeed since he began his professional career.

It is confusing to me what actually happened to Derrickson, but for his sake, I hope he comes out of whatever he's going through strongly.

Can someone give me a summary of what happened? Disagreement between MD/his fiance with a teammate/teammate's partner led to MD being viciously assaulted in his own home by three individuals and his fiance being attacked as well. Sounds like many people were arrested for this, but I'm skeptical if anything will ultimately come from it for MD since it looks like the charges were dropped. Now if anything it looks like the bigger concern is MD's mental health and support since this has clearly taken a heavy toll on him.
