I see maybe 7. I don't think alibegovic counts IMO. One injury and they're in trouble. He played over 10 minutes a game in conference last season, to me that’s a rotation player.. And averaged 2.1 pts and 1.7 rbds 94.8 ortg and 12% of possessions used. I don’t consider that a contributor. A warm body sure but not a BE level player.

Lots of questions and answers start coming in a little more than a week. Hoping for the best and anxious to put the chaos of the past two years behind us. Definitely, and I am eager to see how everything begins playing out a week from Sunday. To me, these initial games will give us a few insights: - Ewing's style on offense - Whether we can defend effectively without fouling - What the rotation might look like - Whether anybody is significantly better/worse than expected - Seeing how our new guys might contribute We should definitely get some insights through seeing the games. The one caveat I would say is that it will be important to look at metrics like offensive efficiency, defensive efficiency, etc. I have no doubt we will, at some point on our tour through SWAC/MEAC drop huge numbers on one of the teams ranked in the 330-351 range. And that could be meaningless, if it's just volume and overwhelming teams that are much weaker than us (like last year's 96-44 rout of Coppin State). That said, even if you look at efficiency, it can be misleading against those opponents. Of course, the opposite is true, too - if we aren't throttling these teams, we are in for a very long year. The same applies to our individual guys. On offense, are they scoring with volume, but not efficiency? Are they scoring because they get really open shots, or simply because they are many times more athletic than our OOC opponents? Some of these answers will likely be unclear for quite some time, maybe until the Big East. I think we just need to be patient, and not overreact when we end the OOC with a good record because we are destroying horrible teams, and suddenly face Big East teams.

Pretty sure Gtown is the only program in the conference to not play a public exhibition or charity game in the pre-season..

They're playing a monument? I hear they’re big, but very little lateral mobility.

Pretty sure Gtown is the only program in the conference to not play a public exhibition or charity game in the pre-season.. They could have played a charity game, but they have the two closed scrimmages against Div 1 teams instead of public exhibitions against Div 2/3 teams. Can’t fault them for the scrimmages, and given the scheduling choices this season it’s not surprising they didn’t set up a charity game.

The charity game was an easy decision even if they had to play on the road.. Providence played one of the top college programs in Canada for one of it's exhibition games so there are options besides Div 2 or 3 schools..

If we put it together we could finish ahead of Depaul, Butler, St. John's, Marquette, and Creighton. None of those teams are that good. Now we could end up not being good at all, but I don't think the BE is that daunting.

Depaul & St. John's I can see. Marquette & Butler hopefully we can scrap with, but only have a punchers chance with Creighton.
I disagree, the Big East is a BEast this year
