Marcus at 8 is criminal.
Not gonna complain about others - which right now I wouldn't argue are more than a couple of spots away from consensus.
Max Strus? Please.

What's striking here is that Blueitt is listed as a PF.. That seems crazy to me but it really illustrates this new era of hoops..

Fake news. I don't think they got our starters or players by position right.

While I might argue that Derrickson deserves to be higher than 8, everything else is fair.
Mulmore was terrible last year at PG. His offensive efficiency was bad (95.7), he shot 34.5% from three point range (not terrible but not great, plus he's a low volume shooter), and he fouled a ton (4.6 fouls per 40 minutes). His assist rate was 16.0, which is also not what you want to see out of a PG.
At SG, Mosely is unproven. Like Mulmore he wasn't very efficient (98.5), his two point percentage was 45%, and his three point percentage was 24.3%. His assist rate was 22.4, pretty good. But overall, Mosely last year was a guard who couldn't shoot. I think a lot of us (including me!) think he will improve this year, but on paper, he's just not that good. Or let me put it this way: he isn't even close to the level of some other guards we've had, like Pryor, Peak, or DSR.
At SF, it seems like they picked Kaleb Johnson (is he even really a SF?) because nobody else fit. Kaleb's efficiency was 99.4%, but he was only 3-12 on threes. Basically, there's nothing in Kaleb's stats to indicate he is even a starter-level player in the Big East. That doesn't mean he won't improve or prove himself to be of that quality, but the stats are the stats.
As noted, at PF, I think Derrickson is probably underrated. In my mind, the biggest thing dragging Derrickson down is his poor defense and fouling. Last year, he fouled at a rate of 5 fouls per game, meaning his minutes were inherently limited because of foul trouble. His offense has been good, but if he cannot stay on the court because he's fouling too much, that positive is muted.
And at center, I think Govan is fairly ranked.
So MAYBE with the exception of Derrickson, this is dead on. I don't think it's "disrespectful," I think it's mostly a fair assessment based on past performance. But, I do think this illustrates why we cannot get too optimistic. We basically have two proven players in Derrickson and Govan, and everyone else is a big question mark as to how much they can contribute.

Rankings look accurate, maybe Derrickson should be higher. Ranked last at PG, SG, and SF...

Rankings look accurate, maybe Derrickson should be higher. Ranked last at PG, SG, and SF... Which is exactly why we are ranked 9th or 10th in all Big East pre-season rankings. Basically, we are in a position where we need Govan and Derrickson to improve, AND a few other guys to make big steps up to have any type of success this season. If any of those factors don't come to pass, we will have a very bad team.

I am hopeful that the frosh can contribute. Pickett has the makings of a monster. Blair has some offensive ability and Walker seems like a workhorse. Sodom is a legit 7'3"!

Can Govan, Derrickson & Pickett give the team 45+ points per night? If so the team will be in a lot of games thus season..

Very wrong. But I'm not counting on this. Govan averaged 10 last year and Derrickson averaged 8. Pickett averaged 21 in his last season of high school. I expect Govan to average around 13-14 and Derrickson around 10-12. Not sure we should count on Pickett for 19.

But last year it was the P+P show on offense. A lot of shots to go around this year plus faster pace.

Right Now: St. John's hosting American International College (D2) in exhibition game on ESPN3.
Early takeaway Red Storm started Lovett, Ponds, Simon, Ahmed and Clark at 6'7" playing the Post and playing a lot of ball screen and 5 out look.
