So we're really going with "Nova is pathetic" right now? We're actually doing that. We are literally unable to fire our coach because of what happened 30 years ago. Nova is not pathetic. Flaming Editeds, yes; pathetic, no. We are pathetic, in the literal sense of that word. My hatred of Nova exists in its own sphere untouched by our performance on the court. Yes, Nova is pathetic for selecting Georgetown for their shirts. The very same team that barely nudged out fricken Depaul for last place in the BE. And yes, we are pathetic for different reasons. Why even acknowledge Georgetown? So due to the transitive property or something like that, Nova is completely and pathetically pathetic.

Some probably have "National Champions" on the front or back.

Why even acknowledge Georgetown? So due to the transitive property or something like that, Nova is completely and pathetically pathetic. My guess is they've made more than 1 tee shirt lately. Some probably have "National Champions" on the front or back. I am as dissatisfied as anyone with our level of play the last couple of years, after being disappointed in our NCAA finishes the last several. I love the Hoyas and have for more than 30 years. I want to believe that a guy as smart as JT3, who provided one of my great ever Hoya moments in 2004 in beating Duke (from a guy that went to final fours and many great games that the team has played), is SMART enough to figure out the new defenses or how he needs to recruit to his system or change the system to the players he gets. As bogged down as our offense can get, the careless turnovers, the senseless switching into mismatches, etc., the lack of defensive intensity is mind-numbing. We are a soft team and that must change. So, as deflated as am, I find this Nova t shirt thing both painful and amusing. Painful because it's true. Amusing because Nova, with its reigning national championship bona fides and bogus Bloomberg #1 business school ranking still fresh, cannot shed its utter inferiority complex when it comes to Georgetown. An inferiority complex so pervasive, that, I understand still compels it to carry t shirts in its bookstore ripping Georgetown. And that, everyone, gives me hope that all is not lost and we can recover. If someone can lay their hands on that shirt, please send it to JT3 (or a player if JT3 doesn't return) to put up in the lockeroom for the offseason and next year. Hoya Saxa, Go Georgetown, and here's hoping that we all get to turn the tables on the rest of the conference soon.

Nova up 52-26 at half. Think there is a talent gap? Obviously the effort needed to beat the Hoyas completely drained the Redmen - um - Storm😉

Not that it matters, but that shirt doesn't exist. Can't believe people would think that's real.

10 minutes to go and Nova is up 34 on a team we lost to twice in the past couple weeks.

Nova up 52-26 at half. Think there is a talent gap? Talent and coaching. But Chris Mullin isn't in the same conversation when it comes to a coaching comparison with Jay Wright.

Is there still a "Hoya Headquarters" or anything akin to that in NYC or is that tradition long since over? Shockingly, I couldn't find anything about it on the internet.....

St. John's is really bad. College hoops pundits like Rothstein love to pump up St. John's at every opportunity. They have some fairly talented players. But Mullin is not teaching them much about how to actually play basketball. Anything good they do come almost completely off individual talent. They don't run any sort of offense, they scramble around with no discipline on defense. I guess they can beat good times once or twice a year when their shooters get red hot. But any halfway solid team would have beaten them by 20 points each of the last two times we played them. So little surprise that a really good team like Villanova destroyed them today.

Are you describing St Johns or the Hoyas?

I noticed that last night while at the game. Basically, they bring the ball up and run screens, and that's it. There's no sort of scheme.

So Xavier has now made all four BET semifinals in the New Big East. Seton Hall has made 3 of 4. Providence is playing to go 4 for 4 as well.
How about that.

Providence was stymied by playing 2017 Hoya ball: throwing the ball all over the gym for 22 turnovers, 54% from the line, I could go on...

So looks like 7 BE teams are dancing now that Xavier SHOULD be off the bubble. Going to be hard to convince the GU Admin that they should be concerned about less revenue from ticket sales, donations, etc. when all that NCAA win share cash is just flowing in.

Remember when we worried about playing in the "diluted" Big East?
Yikes.
