I'm sad. Is anyone else sad? I want to be angry, but I'm not. I'm just sad. Seconded Very sad. We have to lead the conference in dribbles off of our feet or falling down at the end of the game with the ball in our hands. Mosely & Mulmore haven't proven to be reliable shooters. That is extremely limiting out of your guards. I have hope in Mosely's shot but none in Mulmore for future development. The good from this game was Derrickson down low, Hayes on O, and Reggie being a reliable contributor. Too little too late from the seniors but Marcus, Kaleb & Govan all can improve. The pieces are there almost. We need two lead guards who can shoot.

The beauty of having a complete offensive guard like Waters is that you could play him with a Moseley whose shot is not confident at this point, because Waters can be the scorer from 3pt range while Moseley could be your defensive stopper and scorer from drives to the basket. I predict Moseley's 3pt shot will improve as did Jabril's when he no longer has the pg role to fulfill. Can not say that about Mulmore, because of the lack of form on his shot, but the ability to finish with both hands will improve also. I am hopeful for Johnson, but his jump shot, like his free throw shot is more of a sling than a shot. I love Johnson's intensity and willingness to dive on the floor for loose balls, but I fail to see why he had a reputation of defensive stopper out of high school. He reminds me of Clark as a defensive player, he Is very flat footed when guarding his man, that results in that player going around him with ease. Derrickson will be a monster next year playing with Waters, if he continues this trend of hinting inside offensive game before the 3pt game. He could be Delgado-like cleaning up the offensive boards when Waters draws two defenders to his drives to the basket. Govan could be a monster also but must get more physically strong in his legs and hands in order to hold his offensive and defensive positions and hold on to the ball when the defensive players are swiping at it. Agau will benefit greatly from Waters presence also. He came from Louisville where Pitino had pg's that could penetrate and dish to big men, so he will appreciate returning to that. If Peak returns(and he should in order to improve his potential draft stock) he will benefit the most. He is a complimentary player who will benefit from the wide open shots he wil receive from Waters and the wide open lanes to the basket also created by Waters presence.

Always love OldHoyasFans analysis. He should at the very least be an assistant coach on the Hoyas bench and we would be 10 times better.
