All class from Brey, really gotta hand it to him the way he has handled this. Seems like JT3 and Brey probably communicated during the process of Solomon potentially moving to DC. Makes me have a lot more respect for Brey (and JT3 as well) in how this whole thing went down.

I agree about the respect for how Brey handles the program and has handled Solomon's departure.
But - "ND basketball baby"? No Mike, no.

Can anyone explain why this hire hasn't made the front page yet? Is it actually not official? Mike Brey certainly seems to be talking like it is.

It has not been announced by Georgetown, nor cited in any media story I could find beyond a Twitter feed that was the source for the various stories on Rivals, Scout, and 247 Sports. While I do not doubt the authenticity of the story, it bears reminding that Twitter is not journalism. Just because a reporter says something does not make it true. case in point: Chip Brown : Oops. So while Brown was on the case, the tweet was taken as the story before the actual decision took hold.

Starr was fired as President but remains as Chancellor and Professor of Law. Briles was fired. What Brown didn't understand, perhaps, was that President and Chancellor are two different positions so his report of Starr being removed as President was accurate but not the complete story. Mr. Starr was stripped of his title as university president but will remain Baylor’s chancellor and a professor at the law school. The chancellor position is “centered around development and religious liberty,” a regent said on a conference call Thursday afternoon, adding that Mr. Starr’s “operational responsibilities have been removed.” www.nytimes.com/2016/05/27/sports/ncaafootball/baylor-art-briles-kenneth-starr-college-football.html?_r=0

Because our team could care less about keeping the public informed on what's going on. Same as always. We run our SI through the archaic system that supports all the other programs that aren't funded or cared for but this is the program we are supposed to be supporting. Kind of leaves you with an empty feeling when it always feels the fans and alumni who care put more into this than the coaches and SI department. It's not that hard to figure out but they sure do make it seem so.

Much like opposing teams saying the Hoyas are playing a game on the schedule, this seems official.

It's the same thing with Waheed. We knew he was hired before an official announcement was made which was made a week after...Sure we will hear something shortly

Only HoyaTalk could turn a positive hire into the basis for a b*tch session.

Only HoyaTalk could turn a positive hire into the basis for a b*tch session. Wouldn't you like to hear from JT3 or the program on these new hires though? What's stopping this from happening? Other than the usual answer of "that's not how Gtown does things" Brey gave a press conference about the coaching changes in the ND program, why hasn't JT3 done something similar? You can call it a whine party if you want but to me Trillestoy & 54 have valid points..

I could care less about whether or not the team tweets about the new hire, if JT3 is a more lowkey type of guy then so be it.

Maybe they are waiting for a contract to be finalized. Maybe Solomon has a family vacation and they want to officially announce when he gets back. I just don't see the big deal

Because our team could care less about keeping the public informed on what's going on. If it were not for TV crews and a sliver of media covering events, I'm not sure the men's bball program would actually reveal game losses to the public.

I just don't see the big deal Of course there'll be an official announcement, probably much like the one Coach Waheed received but to me it's a missed chance to grab some off season press for a program that just finished 15-18.. Remember these are the Men JT3 hired to go out on the recruiting trail for the program so why not send them off with a little enthusiasm? Is that too much to ask?
