Absolutely fantastic hire. Kudos to JTIII for doing what it takes to bring in coaching talent on this level.
We're gonna pull in some certified studs in this class.

Top 25 assistant coach in the country according to this article... Anthony Solomon - Notre Dame A teacher of fundamentals; any display of poise from his team is a direct response to his example. He is credited with restoring order to a troubled St. Bonaventure program in 2003. -a task that could have only been accomplished by a great coach who is also a great person. www.coachstat.net/#!blank/m28pk

according to casual's post on him he 1. worked closely with ND's guards and was 2. in charge of their national recruiting. This could be an extremely important get for us, especially for someone like Tre. Two areas of expertise we desperately need. On paper and from some of the comments, he sounds like a great addition. Since the end of his most disappointing season ever, JT3 has totally remade our coaching staff, added two good guard prospects and got another year for our 7' late blooming center. Outstanding work.

Wow, this reads like a home run hire! I wonder what III offered him to leave ND? Perhaps we do have an associate head coaching position. It is great he was on so many major 2017 Hoya targets. Off the court, JT3 keeps doing an excellent job.

Pretty clear he wanted to coach in a basketball conference, instead of a mediocre football conference.

This is a GREAT hire. I got my undergraduate degree from Bowling Green in 1993. Solomon was an assistant there from 1989 to 1992 under Jim Larranaga. He was very young at that point in his career, but I really liked the guy. I was part of a fraternity there and we tried to invite various staff over to our fraternity house during the year to have dinner with the guys and discuss things at the university level. We invited Anthony over in 1991 and he was AWESOME! GREAT HIRE!!!!!

Dang, these are the most inspirational comments I've read on a HT thread since ever. Between the transfers, the new assistants, retaining all our eligible players and the solid positioning for the next round of recruiting -- we're ready for 2016-2017!

I think it's also telling that somebody would leave a program in a "Power 5" conference, especially one that has had some recent success, for the Big East. I know nothing about Solomon, but if what everybody else is saying is true, it sounds like a great hire.

Between the transfers, the new assistants, retaining all our eligible players and the solid positioning for the next round of recruiting -- we're ready for 2016-2017! this is about as complete an overhaul of a program as can be done without, ya know, firing the coach. Lends credence to the theory that but for the last name we'd likely have a new coach by now. In any case, I'm all for JT3 getting a chance to turn things around and reinvent himself. Would love to see that happen.

Fantastic addition by III! From his background in developing guards and fundamentals to his strong recruiting prowess (even with some of our top targets no less), this seems like a home-run hire! As a fan coming off such a disappointing season, all I wanted to see this offseason was an effort to change and try something new. With the new staff additions, coupled with the incoming transfers, I'd say that's happening and it's very encouraging to me. Hopefully it reinvigorates everyone else's fervor about the program too! Welcome to GTown, Coach Solomon, time to develop those guards! Hoya Saxa!

Congrats to Coach Solomon, his family, JT3 and the GU staff!
Looking forward to see how these two new coaching hires translate re: recruiting, offense and defense...

Based on what I'm reading here, this may be the best move of the off-season. Sounds like a great hire.
